Olisipa mielenkiintoista käydä katsomassa mitä ne puuhaavat Espanjassa. Koskahan tälläinen saataisiin Suomeen?

The Manuel Rojas Congress Centre in Badajóz (region of Extremadura) will hold the celebration of the Free Software World Conference 3.0 on 7-9 February 2007. The event is jointly organised by the regional government of Extremadura and by the regional government of Andalusia, based on their collaborative agreement for the development and the promotion of Free Software, with the support of businesses involved in this field.
This conference, in its third edition, has become the most important Spanish forum for presentations, debate of ideas, projects and exchange of experiences, and one of the most important events worldwide with more than 10.000 participants and 400 speakers from public administrations, telecommunications businesses and universities.
While focus was on Free/Libre Software as a key tool for the development of the Information Society during the past editions, the objective of the third conference is to establish a reference framework for analyzing Free/ Libre Software and Free Knowledge strategies that are being implemented by organizations, to exchange experiences and discuss them with a view to contribute to the transfer of such strategies to other environments. All perspectives (i.e of businesses, public administrations, citizens, the educative sector, researchers, the legal sector as well as health and cultural actors) will be taken into consideration.
The fourth IDABC OSS event will be held on 8 February in parallel to the conference. It will focus on the recently started OSOR project, where OSOR stands for “Open Source Observatory and Repository" for European public administrations.
