Lieneekö aito...? Itselläni tulee ensin mieleen openbox+tint2 ja plasma tyyliset iconit,. Odotan mielenkiinnolla ja google brändi saa tavalliset kaduntallaajatkin kokeilemaan, eiköhän tuota nähdä vielä kaupassa myytävissäkin thin-client koneissa tulevaisuudessa
This is just the beginning -- Google Chrome is far from done. We're releasing this beta for Windows to start the broader discussion and hear from you as quickly as possible. We're hard at work building versions for Mac and Linux too, and will continue to make it even faster and more robust.
We owe a great debt to many open source projects, and we're committed to continuing on their path. We've used components from Apple's WebKit and Mozilla's Firefox, among others -- and in that spirit, we are making all of our code open source as well. We hope to collaborate with the entire community to help drive the web forward.
Before attempting to install the ATI Catalyst™ Linux software suite, the following software must be installed:
* XOrg 6.8, 6.9, 7.0, 7.1, 7.2 or 7.3
* Linux Kernel 2.6 and above
* glibc version 2.2 or 2.3
* POSIX Shared Memory (/dev/shm) support is required for 3D applications
The ATI Catalyst™ Linux software suite no longer provides precompiled Kernel Modules; all installations require GCC compiler and kernel-headers or kernel-source in order to enable 2D and 3D acceleration.
For best performance and ease of use, AMD recommends the following:
* Kernel module build environment - should include the following:
o Kernel source code: Either the Kernel Source or Kernel Headers packages
* The rpm utility should be installed and configured correctly on your system, if you intend to install via RPM packages
The following packages must be installed in order for the ATI Catalyst™ Linux driver to install and work properly:
* XFree86-Mesa-libGL
* libstdc++
* libgcc
* XFree86-libs
* fontconfig
* freetype
* zlib
As the problem only occurred in certain circumstances, we have only received very few reports from customers that their systems have been affected. It was after investigating the first customer report that we decided to recall the product to minimize the potential impact on other customers. With this version, we have also included Ubuntu 8.04 LTS as an officially supported platform.
