Ubuntu tietokoneissa / 11.04 ja Imon PAD kaukosäädin

Osaisiko joku vääntää rautalangasta miten 11.04:ssä ir-kaukosäätimen pitäisi toimia?
10.10:ssä toimi otsikon mukainen kaukosäädin lirc:in kanssa ihan ok. 11.04-päivityksen jälkeen tilanne on seuraava kun painan kaukosäätimen Play-, Go-  ja Enter-nappeja (lircd ei ajossa):

Nyt haluaisin mythtv:n jotenkin mäppäävän esim. tuon Enter-key:n toimintoon down, vanhassa elämässä .mythtv/lircrc:ssä se tapahtui konfiguraatiolla

ja tässä vaiheessa multa loppuu ymmärrys. Kun käynnistän lircd:n ja kokeilen kaukosäädintä mytht:n kanssa niin
- Enter-nappi tekee enterin
- Go/Prog1 ja Play -napit eivät tee mitään
sama tulos jos lircd ei ole ajossa.
Ja sama tulos irw-komennolla

Multimedia ja grafiikka / Antaako vahvistimeni väärää EDID-tietoa?

Vahvistin on 1080p-laite mutta jostain syystä htpc ei tarjoa ko. grafiikkaformaattia kokoonpanossa HTPC(ati) -> vahvistin -> 1080p tykki. Jos tiputan vahvistimen tuosta ketjusta pois niin hyvin toimii. Vahvistin on Onkyon TX-NR609.

Asentaminen ja käyttöönotto / startupmanager-ongelma 10.04 upgraden jälkeen

Jotain meni yllättäen pieleen kun päivitin käyttiksen 10.04:ään. Nyt ei startupmanagerin päivitys onnistu:

Teinpä taas tyhmän tempun ja päätin päivittää käyttöjärjestelmän 9.10 -> 10.04.
MythTV meni rikki enkä saa sitä toimimaan:
- mysql on ajossa ja siihen pääsee käsiksi

Ja tosiaan ennen päivitystä tuo setup toimi ihan kunnolla.

Mistähän tuota sontakasaa pitäisi lähteä purkamaan?

Koneessa on erillinen äänikortti ja näytönohjainokortti. Bootissa noiden järjestys vaihtelee joten äänten ohjaaminen oikeaan audioulostuloon vaatii boottien välissä konfigurointia. Esim. nyt saan seuraavan tulosteen:

Mutta edellisen bootin jälkeen card 0 oli tuo näytönohjaimen HDMI ja card 1:nä näkyi äänikortti.
Miten saan nuo laitteen pysymään aina samassa järjestyksessä? Kaikki pulsepeeloilut voi unohtaa koska sitä ei pysty mitenkään järkevästi konfiguroimaan niin, että kaikki äänet menevät nätisti spdif:iin.
Käytännössä joudun bootin jälkeen aplay:llä katsomaan missä järjestyksessä kortit ovat ja sen jälkeen esim. MythTV:stä vaihtamaan ääniulostulon ALSA:plughw:0,2 :n ja ALSA:plughw:1,2:n välillä.

On ihan pieniä ongelmia saada tuo grub2 toimimaan kunnolla. Päivitin grubin grub2:een koska hommasin uudeksi roottilevyksi SSD-levyn ja pyhänä aikeena oli saada siitä (ext4) levy ja grub toimimaan jne.
Edestakaisen tappelun jälkeen tilanne on se, että tuo ssd-levy on mountattuna root-partitioksi, mutta vanha juurilevy on oltava koneessa kiinni että saan bootattua.

- Jos ajan grub-mkconfig:in, niin /boot/grub/grub.cfg:n header-osuuteen tulee seuraava entry:

Eli noita UUID:ita ja levyjen osotteita on ristiin ja rastiin. En edes ymmärrä miksi nuo UUID:t ilmestyvät, koska /etc/default/grub:issa on poistettu kommentti rivin

GRUB_DISABLE_LINUX_UUID=true alusta.

/etc/grub -hakemistossa ei ole tiedostoa 10_linux.alkup, mutta kappas vaan, jostain on vaan sellainenkin ylläoleviin entryihin keksitty.

Kerneleitä ei ole tarjolla kuin 31-16 -versio mutta jostain tuo junkki sinne kerääntyy

En viitsisi mennä shoppailemaan uutta WLAN-tukiasemaa ja USB-palikoita huomatakseni ettei mikään toimi...

En tiedä onko ongelma sama mutta firefox ei toiminut ollenkaan 2.6.24-21 kernelillä mutta -19:lla toimii.
synaptic ja apt-get segfaulttaavat molemmilla kernel-versioilla.

Mistähän ihmeestä tätä ongelmaa pitäisi lähteä tutkimaan?

Laitealue / Ubuntu 7.19 ja MSI RX2600Pro

Yritin päivittää näytönohjaimeni, mutta:
- Restricted Drivers väittää ettei ole laitteita jotka tarvitsevat restricted ajureita.
- Näytönohjain näkyy lspci:llä VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc Unknown device:nä.
- Repon xorg-driver-fglrx ei tunnista korttia. (eikä käsittääkseni pitäisikään)
- ATIn sivuilta saatava proprietary 8.42.3 lyö bootissa splash-screenin jälkeen näytön mustaksi ja jumittaa koneen.
Noita ajureita kun edes takaisin yritti viritellä niin suurimman osan ajasta X aukesi low graphics tilaan väittäen
ettei näyttöä ja näytönohjainta tunnisteta...

Oli pakko palata takaisin vanhaan näytönohjaimeen.

Onko kukaan saanut kyseistä näytönohjainta toimimaan? Jos on, niin mummo-ohjeet kiinnostaisivat...

Olen jotenkin onnistunut kädettämään MythWeb:ini niin, että kun otan browserilla yhteyden, niin sivu joka avautuu on liitteenä olevan kuvan mukainen. Joskus kokeilin yhteyttä puhelimen browserilla jolloin näin ensimmäistä kertaa tuollaisen pelkistetyn näkymän.

Sen jälkeen ei MythWeb:in 'oikeaa' sivua ole näkynytkään...

Joku asetus lienee pielessä jossain. Osaisiko joku antaa hieman tarkempia koordinaatteja?
