Asensin aluksi otsikon mukaiseen koneesen xubuntun, mutta se oli minusta aika valilnaisen oloinen. Joten asensin ubuntu dapperin. Annoin koneen päivitää kaiken mitä saatavilla oli. ilmoitus aluella on kaiuttimen päällä punainen merkki ja tulee ilmoitus:Äänenvoimakkuuden hallinta ei löytänyt ohjaimia tai laitteita, joita säätää. Tämä tarkoittaa että joko oikeat GStreamer-liitännäiset eivät ole asennettuina tai että äänikorttisi ei ole määritelty. Olen lataillut pakettien hallinasta vaika mitä alsa paketteja muttei tunnu auttavan. Ääni kortti on sisäinen ESS1879. Kortti kyllä toimi kun koneessa oli win 2000 eli ehjä se on.
