RE: upnp linux server [ reply ]
2006-12-01 21:07We tested with TwonkyVision, MythTv, SimpleMedia (win), Tversity (win). TwonkyVision works great on Linux Ubuntu.
Seems that uShare is wrongly configured.
But I want more data about GMediaServer. We use the same library as Nokia Media Streamer (clinkc and clinkc-av), so it should work. Could you run it from xterm and check if there is any debug/warning message?
If you have no success, I can send you a new deb with debug messages enabled so you can help us figure out what is happening.

upnp linux server [ reply ]
2006-12-01 20:59Which one do you use? I got problems working both with gmediaserver and ushare.
In any case, I had not success to let canola work nor with gstreamer neither ushare.
My home server is a debian (testing) one.
Both servers are correctly discovered by my N770, but:
1 - With gmediaserver (which depends on libupnp0) canola doesn't get list of item shared. The server accepts the request ('til sort criteria) but after a while canola just says 'No Items Found'
With the Nokia mediastreamer it worked like a charm, so I suppose it could be a protocol or timeout issue.
2 - With uShare canola gets the list but doesn't play/show anything. Enabling verbosity I figured out that uShare doesn't reply to the http_get_info request. Note that this package uses libupnp2 (against the libupnp0 of gmediaserver) from ubuntu repos.
Any clue?
