Asensin koneeseeni Kubuntun, mutta mielestäni en saa näytönohjaimen ajureita toimimaan. En saa siis laitettua 1024x768 suurempaa resoluutiota, eikä Display/Hardware kohdassa tunnisteta näyttöä eikä näytönohjainta... Mikä avuksi? Asensin Adeptilla nvidia-glx paketin ja kirjoittelin konsoliin sen jälkeen "sudo nvidia-glx-config enable". Eikä näytä auttavan...

Dapperissa pitää vielä asentaa nvidia-kernel-common  paketti, joko adeptilla tai suoraan päätteellä sudo apt-get install nvidia-kernel-common. Ja toisekseen herjaako tuo "sudo nvidia-glx-config enable" komento mitään siinä päätteessä.

nvidia-kernel-common on asennettu ja nvidia-glx. Tuo "sudo nvidia-glx-config enable" herjaa:

md5sum /etc/X11/xorg.conf | sudo tee /var/lib/x11/xorg.conf.md5sum

Kait ATI-ohjaimet sitä haluavat. Nvidiasta en tiiä, yleisesti kaikissa ohjeissa sanotaan että ati käyttäjät laittakaa tää ja nvidia käyttäjät älköötten.

Jostain luin että jos käyttää nv -ajuria se saa olla mutta jos käytää nvidia -ajuria dri saattaa sekoittaa ajurin tms.

jos et saa em. vinkkien jälkeen toimimaan, niin voisit kokeilla envya: http://www.albertomilone.eu/europeo/nvidia_scripts1.html . Siinä on vaan haittapuolena, että se poistaa kaikki restricted modulit. Eli jos sulla on esim. jollekin wlan-kortille (itse asentamat) ajurit, niin ne ei ton envyn asennuksen jälkeen enää toimi. Mutta kaikki alkais ainakin 7600gt:ssä pelittää sen jälkeen.
