Kuinka saan 2 näyttöä käyttöön toinen uusi lg flatron 19 tuumainen ja toinen joku vanha siemens 17 tuumainen.
ja ne tulisi fluxboxiin molemmat haluisin resolle 1280x1024
ja LG sais olla vasemman puolinen ja se mis on fluxin toi palkki

Näin äkkiseltään katsoen tuo ylempi noista kahdesta alemmasta xorg.confista näytti ihan hyvältä. Siinä oli molemmat monitorit määritelty ja niin päin pois.

Oletko varma noista BusID määritteistä? Eli että ne ovat varmasti 1:0:0 ja 0:9:0 vai repäisitkö ne suoraan jostain esimerkistä?
Nyt en ole juuri Ubuntu-koneen ääressä, mutta jostain näkyy mitä nuo BusID:t itselläsi ovat. Kokeile vaikka käskyä lspci, se taitaa näyttää tuon.

Oma ohjeeni koski kahta Matroxin korttia, joissa kummassakin on kiinni yksi monitori. Se on aivan eri asia kuin yksi NVidian kortti, johon laitetaan kiinni kaksi monitoria.

Kahden kortin kanssa käytetään "Xineramaa", mutta yhden NVidian kanssa "TwinViewtä". Siitä en osaa sanoa mitään, koska en varsinaisesti ole koskaan käyttänyt NVidian kortteja.

NVidian kortista on sinänsä hyviä ohjeita Gentoon sivuilla.

Kaikki Dapperin ikkunamanagerit lienee käännetty tuolla lipulla.

Sinun pitää vain itse opetella nuo asiat - en oikein osaa neuvoa enempää, koska minulla ei ole vastaavaa rautaa.

KinQ, kerrotko hieman tarkemmin miten haluat asettaa näytöt (molemilla omat X ruudut? työpöydän laajennus toiselle ruudulle?) ja minkälaiset näytöt sinulla on. Onko kaksi LCD näyttöä vai yksi CRT (putki) ja yksi LCD?

silleen että kuva "venyy" toiselle näytölle. Että esim, voin pelata toiselta ja irkata toiselta.. ja toinen on litteä ja toinen vanha kuvaputki

En tiedä onko sinulla 2 näytönohjainta vai yksi. Itsellä on enemmän kokemusta yhdellä. Jos on yksi, niin pitää pitää seuraavat asiat mielessä.
On kaksi vaihtoehtoa, joko NVIDIAn TwinView tai Xinerama.

TwinView on tehokkaampi ja rekisteröi X serverille vain yhden ruudun. Siitä johtuen se
+on nopeampi
-fullscreen ohjelmat joskus täyttää molemmat ruudut, eli molemmilla ruuduilla on puolet ohjelmasta mikä on aika ärsyttävää
-LCD ruutua on mahdoton (nykyisillä ajureilla) saada "primary" näytöksi jos rinnalla on CRT. Eli sisäänkirjautuminen, valikot, ja ohjelmat kaikki alkavat CRT ruudulla.

Xinerama käyttää kahta ruutua.
-hieman hitaampi (käy ilmi vasta 3D ohjelmien esim pelien aika FPS pienenä pudotuksena)
+fullscreen ohjelmat sijoittuvat paljon paremmin pelkästään yhteen ruutuun.
+LCD:n voi laittaa primary näytöksi.

Huomaa kohdat ServerLayout missä "screenit" on aseteltu, Device missä on määrätty komennolla Screen 1 LCD primary näytöksi ja komennolla "UseDisplayDevice" "DFP" pakottamaan NVIDIA käyttämään LCD ruutua kyseisessä Device:ssa. Seuraavassa Device osiossa on annettu komento "UseDisplayDevice" "CRT" pakottamaan kyseinen Device käyttämään putkinäyttöä. Ja viimeiseksi on tehty 2 "Screeniä" molemmille näytöille. Noi komennot "UseDisplayDevice" on pakko antaa koska NVIDIAn ajurit tunnistaa CRT näytön aina ensin ja pakottaa sen primary näytöksi. TwinView:lla tämä ei onnistu koska, kuten mainitsin aikaisemmin, se käyttää vain yhtä Devicea ja yhtä Screeniä.

En tiedä onko sinulla 2 näytönohjainta vai yksi. Itsellä on enemmän kokemusta yhdellä. Jos on yksi, niin pitää pitää seuraavat asiat mielessä.
On kaksi vaihtoehtoa, joko NVIDIAn TwinView tai Xinerama.

TwinView on tehokkaampi ja rekisteröi X serverille vain yhden ruudun. Siitä johtuen se
+on nopeampi
-fullscreen ohjelmat joskus täyttää molemmat ruudut, eli molemmilla ruuduilla on puolet ohjelmasta mikä on aika ärsyttävää
-LCD ruutua on mahdoton (nykyisillä ajureilla) saada "primary" näytöksi jos rinnalla on CRT. Eli sisäänkirjautuminen, valikot, ja ohjelmat kaikki alkavat CRT ruudulla.

Xinerama käyttää kahta ruutua.
-hieman hitaampi (käy ilmi vasta 3D ohjelmien esim pelien aika FPS pienenä pudotuksena)
+fullscreen ohjelmat sijoittuvat paljon paremmin pelkästään yhteen ruutuun.
+LCD:n voi laittaa primary näytöksi.

EDIT2: joo okei nyt sain tuon toimii piti vaa PCI:1:0:0 :ksi vaihtaa nuo mut nyt toi pienempi näyttö vilkuttaa vaa tota valoo :I

Hyvä että pelittää. Itse jouduin tappelemaan ton xorg.conffin kanssa n. 5 päivää. Sitten vihdoinki tajusin miten sen saa toimimaan niinkuin haluan Xineraman kanssa. Ei kyllä missään ole mielestäni mainittu tosta menetelmästä.

Katso että olet laittanut sen Screen 1 komennon oikeaan deviceen, eli samaan kuin UseDisplayDevice DFP.

En ole varma mutta luulen että toi komento sijoittaa Samsung ruudun (eli sun LCD) 2 kertaan, eli sen pitäisi näyttää:

Oletan että sun LCD on vasemmanpuolinen ja CRT oikealla.
