Miten siirtää videotiedostoa vhs,ltä koneelle.

Minulla on LG,n video to disc,  one  touch Recording laite joka windowsin puolella toimii mutta nyt tarvitsisin tietoa onko sama mahdollista ubuntun puolella.
Eli laite kytketään vhs video laitteeseen ja se siirtää tiedon usb kautta tietokoneelle ja se on mahdollista editoida tai leikellä sen  omalla ohjelmalla.
Onko kellään kokemusta ko laitteesta ja siitä saako sen toimimaan ubuntussa

Ok, em28xx-laite näemmä. Tutki sitten kernelin lokia tällä komennolla:

sudo uname -a tarjoaisi vinkin jakelussa käytettävästä kernel-versiosta. Jopa oleellisempaa tietoa kuin itse jakeluversion versionumero.
Toisaalta pitänee sinun tietää, minkä Ubuntu-version olet koneellesi asentanut, jos joku muu ei sitä ole puolestasi asentanut.

Lisäys: kun tuollaisten VHS-videoiden siirtäminen on ns. kertakäyttöinen projekti, jää arveluttamaan, onko välttämätöntä taistella laitteen toimiminen Linux-ympäristössä enempää kuin akateeminen kysymys.

Toisaalta pitänee sinun tietää, minkä Ubuntu-version olet koneellesi asentanut, jos joku muu ei sitä ole puolestasi asentanut.

Lisäys: kun tuollaisten VHS-videoiden siirtäminen on ns. kertakäyttöinen projekti, jää arveluttamaan, onko välttämätöntä taistella laitteen toimiminen Linux-ympäristössä enempää kuin akateeminen kysymys.
Mutta kun niitä videoita on useita ja haluan kopioida ne lapsilleni niin se ei ole ehkä niinkään kertaluonteinen.

Ei toimi suoraan. Pitäisi kokeilla eri parametreilla, eikä välttämättä toimi sittenkään. Helpointa kaapata ne videot Windowsissa, kun tarve ei ole jatkuva.
