Moro! Asensin siis 9.10 ubuntun vanhaan raahattavaan (hp nc8000)   Ongelma on siinä että kone ei tunnista mitään usb laitteita.. ajurit??, Ja näytönohjain pitäisi saada toimimaan ( ati mobility radeon 9600).   Osaisikohan joku neuvoa kun en ainakaan äkkiseltään löytänyt haulla toimivaa neuvoa..

Näytönohjain ainakin on oletuksena asentuvan vapaan radeon-ajurin tukema. Kyseinen ajuri toimii aikuisten hommissa ihan riittävästi. 3d-peleistä en mene takuuseen. Kilpaileva vapaa ajuri on radeonhd.
Suljettu ATI:n Catalyst-ajurin toimivuudesta tuolla ohjaimella en tiedä.

Sen verran olen näemmä tuunannut tätä päytäkonettani(ATI 8500), että /etc/X11/xorg.conf:issani on "Screen"-sektiossa rivi

Suljetut eivät tuolla piirillä toimi, myöskään radeonhd ei noin vanhoille korteille ole tarkoitettu. Minkälainen USB-laiteongelma, eikö mikään laite toimi vai joku tietty? Millainen näytönohjain-ongelma?

Ei tosiaan löydä mitään laitteita lsusb komennolla.. oon kokeillu ulkoista kovoa, kolmea muistitikkua ja hiirtä.

Kuva tulee mutta ei saa 3d ominaisuuksia käyttöön ja jökestelee niin maan perkeleesti..

ATi:n suljetut ajurit (Catalystit) eivät toimi museoikäisillä korteilla. Sen sijaan avoin ajuri toimii. Miltä /etc/X11/xorg.conf näyttää tällä hetkellä?

Kuulostaa aika hämmentävältä. Minun käsittääkseni nimittäin lsusb:n pitäisi aina näyttää vähintään root hubit. Kaiken lisäksi Googlen hakutulosten mukaan tuossa laitteessa pitäisi toki USB-porttienkin toimia. Melko epäkiitollinen tilanne uudelle käyttäjälle.

Voi olla jo wanha juttu, mutta näin usb:t on saatu toimimaan Debianilla http://fobie.net/nc8000/  Katso kohta "USB". Samassa rytäkässä on juttua Radeon 9600 näytönohjaimesta. Konkarit voinevat auttaa, itselläni on käytössä vain noita emolevyllä lymyileviä näytönohjaimia... terveisin Timo

Auttaisikohan joku kernel-optio asiaa? En tiedä miten ne toimivat, mutta entinen FS-läppärikään ei tykännyt USB-laitteista ollenkaan, johon auttoi pci=noacpi -optio kernelille.

Eli koneen käynnistyessä Esc-namiskaa kun GRUB alkaa lataamaan ja e oikean ytimen muokkaamiseksi. Optio pci=noacpi lisätään rimpsun jatkoksi, jossa lukee ro quit splash tai vastaavaa.

Hakuammuntaa, ei tarvitse yllättyä jos ei toimi. Ja tuo sulkee lepo- ja keskeytystilat pois käytöstä.

Tuossa on pari kannettavan juttua ja hiiri, mutta kuitenkin vain yksi 2.0 root hub. Mitä muuten käytännössä tarkoittaa se, että tuossa listassa on noita 1.1:ä noin monta ja vain yksi 2.0?

Hyvä pointti, mutta en silti usko niiden olevan USB 1.1:ä. Tarkoitin nimitään, että mistä päättelit niiden olevan USB 1.1:ä. Taidan huomenna Googlata tuon root hub jutun kun minua kiinnostaa niin kovasti miksi kaikissa koneissa (joissa on 2.0-portit) on noita molempia. Jos vaan muistan siis.
