Jos kyseessä on perinteinen grub, niin laita kone buuttaamaan recovory-modeen, eli default on 1

Ja gnomen saa ajettua tämän jälkeen ihan normaalisti pystyyn consolesta ? Mistä yleensäkkin buutissa GDM käynnistyy ?

tuo ei ole ihan sitä mitä sinä etsit.

Mistä yleensäkkin buutissa GDM käynnistyy ?

aikaisemmin nuo palvelut käynnistettiin system v -tyylisellä initillä ja niitä ilmeisesti se Gnomen säätötyökalukin hallitsi. Ubuntu on kehittänyt uuden init-systeemin joka kulkee nimellä upstart ja on hiljalleen siirtymässä sen käyttöön. GDM:n käynnistymisestä huolehtiva scripti löytynee nykyään polusta /etc/init/gdm.conf. tuo tiedosto vaatinee puukotusta jos GDM:n ei halua käynnistyvän bootissa.
