elikkä näytössä outoa särinää ja netti kaatuu ja vetää ruudun aina täysin mustiin eikä sen jälkeen voi tehdä edes pikanäppäimillä mitään (se mitä niistä edes tiedän). vinkkejä???

Hieman tarkempi informaatio laitteistostasi helpottaisi ratkaisevasti arpomista ongelmien syistä.
Putkinäyttö? Minulla joskus näyttö särisi, kun virkistystaajuudet olivat (suosituksista huolimatta) liian korkeat ko. näytölle. Netin kaatumiseen ilman vähäisintäkään tietoa yhteystavastasi jää kristallipalloni ulottumattomiin.
Virkistystaajuuksien korjaamiseksi riittää valita /etc/xorg.conf tiedostoon HorizSync ja VertRefresh arvojen määrittely toimiviksi. Suositellut arvot löytyvät näytön manuaalista. Joissakin tapauksissa suositellut eivät ole välttämättä sopivat ko. käytettävällä resoluutiolla.

Sorry. Olipas sinulla nuo faktatiedotkin tarjolla  - eli viestini on aika turha. Tarkista kuitenkin nuo virkistystaajuudet tai paremminkin sanottuna (littunäytöstä puhuttaessa) niiden puute.

Tämä nyt aivan villi veikkaus, mutta olisiko näytönohjain menossa?  Mitenkäs kone reakoi "pehmyt buuttiin" eli paina altGr+ PrintScreen napit pohjaan ja näppäile yksitellen kirjaimet reisub? Onko särinä jatkuvaa vai ilmenee ennen netin kaatumista (oletan että tällä tarkoitat selainta)?

Epäilen kanssa näyttistä tai sitten monitori sanoo sopimustaan irti, harvemmin kyllä. (mutta kun Sonera pelissä.....). Kokeile noita jyulin keinoja ja hakua samantapaisista vioista.

Miten asennettu ajurit? jos ollenkaan?
Kaatuuko järjestelmä jos selainta ei avaa? eli muilla keinoin..
Kaatuuko selain flash-elementtejä sisältävällä sivulla?... Paketti libflashsupport asennettu, se poistoon.

Ajureita en oo sen kummemmin rukannu ja tää kaatuu kyl ihan sama mitä tekee, mitä kauvemmin kone kiinni, sitä paremmin pysyy päällä.
libflashsupport ei ainakaan löytyny tuolta lisää/poista osasta...

Jos mahdollista, niin aukaise kone ja tarkista paljon koneen sisuksista löytyy pölyä..
Kuulostaa nimittäin siltä että kone kuumenee, jonka vuoksi kaatuu.

Tuon operaation jälkeen pistetään ajurit kuntoon, sillä nyt on vikasietotila käytössä.

Jos mahdollista, niin suosittelen myös päivittämään järjestelmän jakeluversioon 8.04
Jossa on parempi tuki/tunnistus laitteistolle.

Seuraava komento kertoo onko paketti asennettu vai ei.
