xorg.conf mallia IBM thinkpad A21p kannettavaan?

Ubuntu 8.04.1 asennustani vaivaa bugi 231455, josta sivulla https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/231455 on ohjeita. En kuitenkaan keksinyt ohjeen ja googlen perusteella mitä kaikkea xorg.conf -tiedostoon pitäisi lisätä. Ainoastaan vesa-ajuri toimii 800x600 resoluutiolla. Oikea resoluutio on 1600x1200.

Vanhempien ubuntun versioiden asennus pysähtyi tai muuttui äärimmäisen hitaaksi vaikka muistia on puoli gigaa. Edes alternate -levy ei auttanut.

Arvostaisin vinkkejä tai kopiota samantapaisen koneen xorg.conffista.
Tai neuvoa miten ajetaan em. sivulla mainittava tilanteen korjaava ohjelma:
