HP Deskjet 720c Printer - ei toimi ...

Asensin otsikon mukaisen printterin (Ubuntu 5.10).
Tein mielestäni kaiken oikein asennuksessa, ja printteri näkyy Ubuntussa ok,
mutta laite ei reagoi mitenkään printtaukseen (kokeilin printtausta geditistä ja firefoxixta ...).
Onko joku kokenut vastaavaa, mikä avuksi ...?

Kokeilin tuota toistakin ajuria tuloksetta ...

Yhteydet on varmasti sitten kunnossa sinne tulostimeen päin vehje on online ja piuhat on ehjiä ja kiinni. 90 % rautavioista johtuu rikkinäisistä liittimistä ja piuhoista. Toimiiko tulostin jollain toisella OS:lla

WinME:ssä, joka on toisena OS:nä samassa koneessa, printteri toimii ok.
Ubntussa printtaus näyttää menevän printterijonoon muutamaksi sekunniksi kuten pitääkin, mutta mitään ei tapahdu printterissä ...

Onko sinulla amd64, jos on niin on aika epätoivoista saada toimimaan. Mitä olen threadeja lukenut ubuntuforumilta tämä on ongelma ubuntun 64 versiossa, HP:n deskjetit eivät vain toimi niissä. Voit kokeilla ubuntun 32 bittistä livecd:tä. Olisi tietenkin hyvä saada toimimaan 64:sellakin tämä. En tiedä sitten mitä varten tämä on.

I use pnm2ppa because 710 is only supported by this

I suppose that with anothers printers the system configuration tool don't select the printer.
