Laitoin ubuntu 6.10 koneeseeni ja samassa yhteydessä hävisi windows käynnistysvalikosta...olen todennäk. hävittänyt sen ihan ite, mutta mistä löydän sen. :-\ ja hei olen sitten syntynyt ennen DOS:ia, joten minun tietoni koneista rajoittuu melkeimpä virtanappulan ja hiiren käyttöön.

minun tietoni koneista rajoittuu melkeimpä virtanappulan ja hiiren käyttöön.
No käytellään nyt kumminkin näppäimistöä, koska pelkällä hiirellä ja virtanappulalla menee hieman vaikeaksi.
Otetaan esiin pääte Sovellukset -> Apuohjelmat->Pääte
kirjoitetaan komento

sudo nano /boot/grub/menu.lst katsellaan tiedostoa alaspäin...
Jostain kohtaa löytyy tekstinpätkä, joka on suunnilleen tällainen:

Noista riveistä otetaan risuaitamerkit pois edestä (#-merkit) ja painellaan Ctrl+O ja Ctrl+X
Kirjoitetaan uudelleenkäynnistyskomento
Koodia: [Valitse]
sudo reboot (tallensithan keskenjääneet työsi?) ja katsellaan boottivalikkoon ilmestynyttä Windowsia.

Jos Winikka ei kuitenkaan käynnisty niin ilmoittele...

No niin ...kesti vähän ;) Tulihan se XP valikkoon, mutta EI KÄYNNISTY eli jää tekstiin "Starting up...
tekstinpätkä oli päätteellä sama kuin antamassasi esimerkissä.

Ubuntu 06.10. installoidessa ...partitioita tehdessä vahingoitin todennäköisesti Winikan piilotiedostoa ja uudelleen lataus yrityksessä tuli "Glue part error 5"
eli ei löydy W:n merkkiä kovalevyltä jotta recovery levy toimisi. Apu löytyy joko laite valmistajan auttavasta puhelimesta joka taluttaa läpi DOS osion tai
sitten yksinkertaisesti lainaa joltain Windows levykettä ja käyttää omaa sarjanumeroa joka tod näköisesti löytyy koneen kyljestä. ???
mä oon ihan oikeesti tyhmä enkä vaan esitä tyhmää
