Tuon ja edellisen viestisi perusteella sinulla on koneessa kaksi 20 GB:n kiintolevyä, joille molemmille on asennettu erilliset Ubuntut? Sinänsä tämän ei pitäisi vaikuttaa äänten katoamiseen, joka saattoi johtua suorasta päivityksestä 8.10->9.04.

Itse tekisin tuossa tilanteessa puhtaan Ubuntu 9.10-asennuksen, jossa osioisin levyt uudelleen manuaalisesti. Toiselle kiintolevylle juuriosio (/) ja swap ja toiselle kotihakemistot (/home). Tällöin kotihakemiston säilyttäminen on helpompaa myöhempien uudelleenasennusten yhteydessä.

Ensin on kuitenkin otettava kopiot tärkeistä tiedostoista johonkin ulkoiselle medialle.
