Näytön asetukset

Asensin kubuntun (siis ubuntun lisäksi)ja nyt ei näytön asetukset toimi enkä saa niitä muutettua siitä valikosta. antaa liian pienen koon. Ubuntussa homma toimi automaattisesti mutta ei tässä. Kuinka pääsisin muuttamaan asetukset oikein?

Muuten ihan hyvä neuvo, kiitoksia vaan mutta kun eteen avautuu pelkkä enkunkielinen "juttu" enkä osaa tarpeeksi jotta ymmärtäisin mihin kaikkeen vastaa ok ja mihin en. Eikö ole jotain muuta tapaa tehdä tuota?

Resoluutiotako yrität muuttaa? Mihin resoon? Mikä näytönohjain? Ja näytä tosiaan toi xorg.conf tuloste.

En tiedä mikä näytönohjain mutta gnomessa toimii ihan ok. Pitäisi saada 1028x1024 mutta sellaista ei köydy tuosta graafisesta työkalusta.
Tuo komento antaa tällaisen:

Kirjoita komentoriviin: sudo gedit /etc/X11/xorg.conf (Avaa tekstinkäsittelyohjelman).

No, no. Vililikku kertoi tuo maagisen loitsun jo ensimmäisessä viestissään. Tosin
tuo editointi käy helpommin editorilla käpistelemällä /etc/X11/xorg.conf tiedostoa. Esim.

sudo vi /etc/X11/xorg.conf
Vi on perustekstieditori, joka löytyy kaikista Linux-jakeluista.

Periaatteessa kun koneellesi on asennettu kaksi Ubuntu-jakelua, voit verrata niiden /etc/X11/xorg.conf tiedostoja. On jopa mahdollista, että kopioit toimivan xorg.conffin jakeluun, jossa xorg.conf ei toimi.

Ubuntu ja Kubuntu ovat niin samanlaisia jakeluja, ettei niiden asentaminen erikseen ole hirveän fiksua. Ubuntuun voi asentaa tarvittavat KDE-kamat ja vastaavasti Kubuntuun Gnome-palikat.
