Latauspalkki vielä hukassa [ratkaistu]

Ubuntu 7.10 versio asennettu Dellin 350 MHz 384 Mb Optiplex G1 koneeseen, D1025HE näytöllä.

Asennuksessa oli ongelmia 1024x768 resoluution kanssa. Oletuksena toimi vain 800x600 koska asennusohjelma määritteli värisyvyydeksi xorg.conf tiedostoon 24. 1024x768 reson sain toimimaan määrittelmällä em. tiedostoon värien määräksi 16.

Jäljellä oleva ns. ongelma on (joka en lähinnä esteettinen), ettei latauspalkkia näy minkään laista. Starting... ilmoituksen jälkeen on 2-3 min. pelkkää pimeyttä, ennen kuin välähtää hiiren X ja heti perään pyörivä hiiren kuvake ja kaikki muut. Olisiko tuo latauspalkki helposti saatavissa näkyviin (ilmeisesti siinä voisi olla tuo reso-ongelma syynä)? Olen aika urpo vielä tämän Ubuntun kanssa, joten mieluimmin jos löytyis tarkkoja ohjeita. kiitos.

Olisiko tuo latauspalkki helposti saatavissa näkyviin (ilmeisesti siinä voisi olla tuo reso-ongelma syynä)?

Latauspalkki ei ole erikoisen informatiinen, ja tuskin edes tarpeen, mutta... Vilautapa /boot/grub/menu.lst tiedostoasi. Ko. tiedoston perusteella määritellään, miltä latautumissivu näyttää.

Kokeile asettaa framebufferin resoluutioksi 1024x768x16 bit muokkaamalla menu.lst:iä esim. näin:

Tälle riville muutos:

kernel      /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.22-14-generic root=UUID=6539d72f-4794-487d-8c46-6e200f2b08c7 ro quiet splash locale=fi_FI vga=791

Tuo splash tarkoittaa sitä latauspalkin näyttävää ruutua. Jos siitä haluaa kokonaan eroon, voi splashin tilalle vaihtaa nosplash. Käynnistykseen liittyvät viestit saa tulostumaan ruudulle käynnistyksen aikana, eipä tarvitse tuijotella tyhjää ruutua ja informaatiotakin on tarjolla "hieman" enemmän kuin isoilla askeleilla etenevässä palkissa. Mutta mitenkäs se tehtiinkään.
