Taas yksi virkistystaajuusongelma

Ongelmana ovat näytön virkistystaajuudet, joita gnomesta löytyy tasan yksi kappale, 85Hz jokaiselle resolle. Windowsissa näyttö kyllä pystyy 100Hz virkistystaajuuteen 1280x1024 -resoluutiolla, joten sen ei pitäisi olla ongelma. Asensin nvidian ajurit, ajoin xorgin konfiguraation ja säädin vielä conffifilua käsin ohjeiden mukaisesti, mutta tuloksetta. Apuja olen etsinyt paitsi tältä foorumilta, myös ubuntuforums.orgista (joka tosin nyt näyttäisi olevan ns. varikolla), mutta toistaiseksi olen vain polkenut paikallani. Näyttönä tosiaan Samsung SyncMaster 900NF ja näytönohjaimena GF6600GT AGP.

Tuon custom modelinen tein jollain netistä löytyvällä modeline laskurilla, en nyt muista millä. Olen myös yrittänyt säätää virkistystaajuuden käsin laittamalla sen resoluution perään täältäkin foorumilta löytyvien ohjeiden mukaan, eli 1280x1024_100, mutta tällöin koko resoluutio häviää valittavien listalta.

Ajoin sen juurikin tällä sudo dpkg-reconfigure -phigh xserver-xorg -komennolla, jonka jälkeen muutin tuon ohjeen mukaisesti nv:n nvidiaksi.

Sain 100 Hertsiä virkistystaajuudeksi Samsung SyncMaster 900NF näytöllä kun muutin ja lisäsin

/etc/X11/xorg.conf tiedostoon, Monitor kohtaan seuraavat arvot:

HorizSync   30.0 - 110.0
VertRefresh   50.0 - 160.0
Modeline "1024x768@100" 113.309 1024 1096 1208 1392 768 769 772 814 +hsync +vsync

Näillä saa 100 Hertsin virkistystaajuudeen käyttöön kunhan sen käy vaan säätämässä asetuksista päälle lopuksi.
Vaatinee X:n uudelleen käynnistyksen ja hyvin toimii .
