Kommenteissa on hyvää keskustelua GNOME kehittäjien kanssa. Toivottavasti Consort-kehittäjät ryhtyvät kehittämään alkuperäisiä projekteja forkkauksien sijasta.

Kiinnostavaa kyllä nähdä, olisiko tällä forkilla edessään parempi tulevaisuus kuin Matella! Olen pohdiskellut, löytyykö vanhanmalliselle Gnomelle tarpeeksi kehittäjiä, vai korvaako Xfce sen. Nyt olisi mielestäni kyllä mainio aika yhdistää xfce ja nuo vanhan Gnomen rippeet, koska ei niillä taida olla kovin suurta eroa keveydessä. Toki myönnän, että Gnomella oli aina jotenkin johdonmukaisempi ja käyttäjäystävällisempi linja siinä missä Xfce vaikutti hiomattomammalta ja siinä mielessä enemmän omatoimiseen säätöön rohkaisevalta.
