Lyhyesti: ongelmana on Kubuntun käynnistys viime kernelipäivityksen jälkeen (ei välttämättä siihen kuitenkaan liity?). Saan vain mustan ikkunan, josta kuitenkin olen palstaneuvojien avulla päässyt eteenpäin ctrl alt F1:llä. Antamalla komentokehotteeseen 'startx' käynnistyy X ja pääsen Gnome graafiseen tilaan (jopa suuri resoluutio tuettuna).
Sisäänkirjautuessa (ennen startx:ää) tulee virheilmoitus
"configuration error - unkown item 'FAIL_DELAY' "
Olen yrittänyt myös apt-get update ja apt-get distro-upgrade komentoja, jotka sinänsä menevät läpi (ihan kaikkia varastoja ei taida löytyä mutta näin se on ollut jo kauan, en usko että tässä tilanne on muuttunut).
(Myös
sudo dpkg-reconfigure -phigh xserver-xorgon kokeiltu.)
Näytönohjain on siis ATI radeon 9600 ja monitori EIZO Flexscan L557 (LCD näyttö).

Yksi juttu vielä: sammutettaessa tulee jotain valituksia tuosta wacom-driverista.
