näyttö resoluutio ongelma

Näyttö on TVM MD-14 III ja näytön ohjain SiS SG 86C202 näillä pitäisi saada tarkkuudeksi 800x600.
Mutta ubuntu on vain 640x480 tilassa, yritin tämän ohjeen mukaan http://fi.wikibooks.org/wiki/Ubuntu_tutuksi/Järjestelmän_asetukset#N.C3.A4ytt.C3.B6

mutta ei onnistunut kokeilin vesa 800x600 ja Sis 800X600 ei toimi, mitä pitäisi seuraavaksi kokeilla tai tehdä että sais 800x600 tarkkuden päälle ja kyse on siis 6.06 LTS asennuksesta?

vai onko ainoa vaihtoehto uudempi näyttö ja ohjain?

Pääset muokkaamaan xorg.conffia komennolla

sudo gedit /etc/X11/xorg.conf

vesan vaihto sisiin ja 1024x768 resojen poisto teki saman kuin aiemminkin graafinen tila ei käynnistynyt, mutta kun laitoin vesan takaisin poistin kaikki 1024x768 resot ja muutin defaultdepthin 16 niin nyt toimii 800x600 eli suuret kiitokset nyt toimii!

Vanha aihe, mutta mitäpä sitä turhaan uutta alottamaan..Eli virkistystaajuus on vain 60Hz ja resoluutio 1024x768...kikkailin jonku ohjeitten mukaan että noita resoolutioita sais laitettuu enemmän siihe listaa, mutta eipä niitä ilmestyny...Näytönohjain on Ati x700pro

pistin ton sit päätteesee

sudo gedit /etc/X11/xorg.conf

ja tältä näyttää
