Tervehdys arvon foorumilaiset!

Osaisittekohan auttaa seuraavanlaisessa ongelmassa:

Lähtötilanne:
Asensin uusimmat Nvidian näytönohjainajurit 1.0-9746, kaikki toimi tätä ennen hienosti.

Lopputulos:
X ei suostunut käynnistymään ajuriversiolla 1.0-9746. Ennen kirjoittautumisikkunan latautumista ilmoitetaan Nvidian ajurilinkkien luomisesta, jonka jälkeen näytössä vilahtaa nopeasti Nvidian logo. Tämän jälkeen näyttö jää yksiväriseksi(myrkyn vihreä tai musta). Minkätahansa näppäimistön napin painalluksella palataan konsoliin, josta voi kirjautua koneelle.

Uusimman Nvidian legacy 1.0-7184 näytönohjainajurin asennuksen jälkeen X käynnistyy, mutta lähes kaikki ohjelmat(Firefox, Amarok, Nvidia-config mm.) kaatuvat "Program received signal SIGSEGV, Segmentation fault. " -ilmoitukseen.

Jepjep tuota kerroppas, mikä näyttis sulla on ja mihin näyttöön se on kiinnitetty(siis dvi vai d-sup(vga)), ja laitakkos xorg.confin ja logjea vois kattella(/var/log/Xorg.0.log ja muita Xorg logeja siitä kansiosta). Muutenkin toi uusin virallinen ajuri ja uusin beta on hieman ollut bugiset, eli käytä ajuria 1.0-9625(tai 26). Eli itsellänikin tekee justiinsa tuota segfaultia joka ohjelma jos yrittää nvidian ajurilla, joka ei toimi. Itselläni virallinen toimii koska näyttö on kiinni vga:ssa(ajureissa on bugi, jonka takia dvi ulostulo ei toimi). Vanhemman toimivan betan löydät vaikka täältä(osannet poistaa vanhemmat, kun olet näämmä asennellut useampia).

Hmm tai no uusin virallinen onkin 1.0-9746, jota en ole edes vielä yrittänyt... Milläs ohjeella ja miten olet ajurit asentanut, itse asentelen ne yleensä ton tseliotin ohjeiden mukaisesti.
Miksi tehdä jotain helposti, kun sen voi tehdä vaikeastikin...

Kiitoksia Tuke81 vinkeistä. Täytyypä kokeilla eri ajuriversioita ja Tseliotin ohjeita illalla.

Laitteistoni:
-Emolevy: Gigabyte 965p-DS4
-Suoritin: Core2Duo E6400
-Näytönohjain: Gigabyte Nvidia 7300GT passive
-Näyttö: Eizo T761 19" VGA kunnes korvautuu DVI liitännäisellä LG 204wt :lla.

Tällä hetkellä kone käynnistyy graafiseen tilaan ainoastaan niin, että tuhoan xorg.conf tiedoston kansiosta /etc/X11/ . Kaikki ohjelmat toimivat näin PCI:ongelmitta, mutta Nvidia ajurin asetuksia en pääse tietenkään muuttamaan kun ajuria ei ladata X :n käynnistyessä.

Koneella oli aikaisemmin Fedora Core 6, josta luivuin kahdesta syystä. Vanhat kernelit eivät tukeneet Intelin 965p piirisarjaa kunnolla. Käytännössä tämä ilmeni epävakautena ja niin, että IDE väylään liitetty DVD-RW asema ei suostunut kirjoittamaan. Toinen syy oli, etten onnistunut löytämään kaikkia tarvitsemiani kirjastoja ja ohjelmia multimediakäyttöä ajatellen.

Olen kokeillut saada näytönohjaimen toimimaan kolmella eri tavalla:
1.
Asentamalla nvidia-kernel-imagen, nvidia-kenel-common ja nvidia-glx-legacy (Xorg :lle) paketit. Huom. nvidia-glx on apt-get :n kuvauksen mukaan tarkoitettu Xfree86 :lle.
2.
Boottaamalla tavallisella linux-imagella, kirjoittautumalla konsoliin ja ajamalla Nvidian asennusohjelman tyyliin sh NVIDIA*...*.sh

Nvidia :n liittyvät paketit olen kokeilukertojen välillä pyyhkinyt bittitaivaaseen komentamalla apt-get remove nvidia-*

Ajamalla dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg ohjelman. Tällä menetelmällä olen kokeillut konffata X :aa toimimaan Nvidian ajureilla kuin myös geneerisella vga ajurilla.

Xorg.conf ja log tiedostoa en valitettavasti nyt pysty postittamaan, mutta postitan ne illalla foorumille. Itseäni epäilyttää dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg ohjelman PCI-E väylän tunnistamiskyvyt. Ohjelma ehdottaa näytönohjaimelle PCBus paikkaa PCI:0:16:0. PCI paikat olen vilkaissut läpi komentamalla 'lspci' ja tulostus näyttää seuraavalta: Huom. lspci listauksessa näytönohjain on paikassa 01:00.0, olen kokeillut määrittää näytönohjaimet PCBus paikaksi myös 1:0:0.

Tässä Xorg loki tilanteesta, jolloin xorg.conf tiedostoon oli määritetty ajuriksi nvidia.

Tilanne, jossa ajuriksi on määritetty nv. Tällä ajurilla X käynnistyy, mutta muutamat graafiset ohjelmat kuten mm. Amarok eivät suostu käynnistymään.

Itseäni lähinnä ihmetyttää Xfree86 viittaukset lokeissa, vaikka X palvelimena on nimenomaan Xorg-7.1

dpkg-reconfigure ohjelmalla xorg.conf tiedostoa generoitaessa määritetään myös näytönohjaimen muistikapasiteetti yksiköissä kB. Eikös 256 MB * 1024 kB/MB ole 262144 hyvinkin lähellä oikeaa?

Amarok-ohjelmaa konsolista käynnistettäessä Amarok herjaa seuraavaa:

kokeilen ehtoolla aloittaa puhaan "puhtaalta pöydältä".

Miltä tälläinen proseduuri kuulostaa?

1. Boottaan koneen olemassa olevalla 486 custom kernelillä sinkkukäyttäjä tilaan
2. Komennan rmmod nvida && modprobe nvidia                   !Mahdollisen vanhan tauhkan poisto
3. aptitude remove nvidia-* (nvidia-kernel-2.6.18-3-686, nvidia-glx, nvidia-kernel-common mm.)
4. aptitude install linux-image-2.6.18.3-686                          !Uusimman linux-imagen asennus
5. Boottaus linux-image-2.6.18-3-686 :lla
6. aptitude install linux-headers-2.6.18-3-686                       !Uusimman linux-imagen headerien asennus

Nvidian ajurilla se pukkaa oletus resoksi 1920x1440 joka on aika suuri 19" näytölle(harvat 19" tukee tuota resoa ja mitä netistä etsin specsejä tuolle eizolle niin näyttäisolevan maximi 1600x1200), joten se vihreä musta ilmiö voi johtua tuosta. Eli laske xorg.confista suurinta oletus resoa.(eli laita ensimmäiseksi vaikka 1280x1024) siis tästä kohasta:

Ei mitään vakavaa, nämä on vain xorg.confissa määriteltyjä wacom laitteita joita ei ole olemassakaan(jotain kosketus näppiksiä ym. kannettavien jutskia). Nää häröt saat pois kun raakasti poistat wacomit konfistas ja muistat vielä poistaa ne server layout kohdasta myös.

Hmm 2.6.18 kerneli, ei kyllä kuullosta ubuntun stockki kerneliltä, muistaakseni dapperissa oli 2.6.15, edgyssä 2.6.17 ja feistyssä 2.6.20... Itselläni sattuu olemaan tuo kerneli itse käännettynä(rupes irq:t pännimään).
Miksi tehdä jotain helposti, kun sen voi tehdä vaikeastikin...

kiitoksia Tuke81 vaivannäöstäsi!

Löysin seuraavanlaisen tien onneen Nvidian asennus scriptin avulla:

1. Muokataan /linux-restricted-modules-common configurointi tiedostoa:
sudo nano /etc/default/linux-restricted-modules-common
Muutetaan viimeinen rivi näyttämään seuraavanlaiselta:
DISABLED_MODULES="nv"

2. Asennetaan kaikki tarvittava:
sudo apt-get install linux-headers-`uname -r` build-essential gcc gcc-3.4 xserver-xorg-dev

3. Poistetaan nvidia binäärit:
sudo apt-get --purge remove nvidia-glx nvidia-settings nvidia-kernel-common

4. Tuhotaan nvidia configurointi tiedostot:
sudo rm /etc/init.d/nvidia-*
Tämä varmuuden vuoksi, itselläni ei ollut init.d kansiossa yhtään nvidia konfigurointitiedostoa.

5. Pysäytetään X (KDE)
sudo /etc/init.d/kdm stop

6. Käännetään Nvidia moduulit Nvidian scriptillä:
sudo sh NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-9629-pkg1.run

7. Luodaan uusi xorg tiedosto vanhan pohjalta avustetusti:
sudo nvidia-xconfig

8.  Käynnistetään X (KDE)
sudo /etc/init.d/kdm start
Jos KDE ei käynnisty niin kannattaa kokeilla komentoa 'startx'. Omalla kohdallani kdm manageri oli sitä mieltä, että kde-ikkunamanageri on jo käynnissä. Tähän auttoi koneen boottaaminen.

Moi, mulla tuli ongelmia kun tein tuon listan mukaan...
beryll ja compiz toimii ihan hyvin paitsi päätettä käyttäessäni pitää GL desktop kytkee irti GNOME COMPIZ PREFERENCES -ohjelmalla jotta päätteellä pystyisi tekemään jotain. Muuten on vain puhtaan valkea taulu - ei kohdistinta eikä mitään muutakaan näkyvissä. Hiiren napeilla saa normaalit päätteen valikot toimimaan mutta kirjoittamaani tekstiä en saa näkyviin edes profiilia muokkaamalla.

Koneeni on kannettava ACER 9302WSMI ja aikaisemmin toimi langattoman verkon kautta.
Ymmärsin että kun tuhosin ohjeen mukaan nuo modulit niin LInux-restricted-modules-2.6.20-15-generic -katoaminen aiheutti sen ettei Atheroksen kortille ole enää moduulia ja se herkesi toimimasta. Päättelin näin koska aikaisemmin kone ilmoitti sen restricted-moduuliksi.
Näitä paketteja siis katosi LINUX-GENERIC, LINUX-RESTRICTED-MODULES-2.6.20-15-GENERIC, LINUX-RESTRICTED-MODULES-GENERIC, NVIDIA-KERNEL-COMMON, NVIDIA-SETTINGS.
Olenko ymmärtänyt oikein? Miten saan langattoman toimimaan ilman että menetän beryllin ja compizin ja täyden grafiikkakortin tehon?
Lisäksi pelit toimii nyt jotka ei aikaisemmin toimineet. esim TORCS, X-moto ja grafiikkaohjelma Blender.

tarkennuksia ohjeisiin:
Ohjeen kohdan 1. tarkoituksena on estää avoimien nv ajureiden käyttö ja pakottaa X käyttämään nimenomaan suljettuja ajureita, mitään muuta tässä vaiheessa ei vielä tehdä.
Ohjeen kohdassa 2. poistetaan kaikki VAIN nvidia :n liittyvät paketit "sudo apt-get --purge remove nvidia*"

Ohjeissa oli lähinnä tarkoitus osoittaa, että on kaksi tapaa asentaa nvidia:n ajurit:
1. Pakettien hallinnasta, jota en saanut toimimaan,
2. tai, asentamalla "linux-headers-`uname -r` build-essential gcc gcc-3.4 xserver-xorg-dev"-paketit ja suljettu nvidia binääriajuri.

Minulla on tällä hetkellä käytössä Debian Etch, joten en pysty helposti tarkistamaan Ubuntu "restricted" pakettien sisältöä, mutta järkeilyn perusteella: Mikäli mikään noissa restricted paketeissa ei viittaa nvidia :n näytönohjainajureihin, voit asentaa myös ne ilman, että nvidian:n kotisivuilta hakemasi binääriajurin asennus sotkeentuu.

Non-free Linux 2.6.20 modules on x86/x86_64
This package provides restricted modules for Linux version 2.6.20 on
x86/x86_64.

Currently the following modules are included:
 - madwifi (Atheros)
 - fglrx (ATI)
 - nvidia
 - fcdsl2, fcdslsl, fcdslslusb, fcdslusb, fcdslusb2, fcpci (AVM ISDN)

These modules are "restricted" because they are not available under a
completely Free licence.


Tuollaisen vastauksen antaa synapticin linux-restricted-modules-...jne
eli nvidia on joukossa...ja onko tuo madwifi nyt se moduuli jonka pelkästään tarvitsisin? Tähän kun saisi vastauksen, etten turhakkeita asentele.
Miten tuon paketin uudelleen asettaminen vaikuttaisi nyt tähän nykyiseen asennukseen? Voisiko tuon nvidian  moduulin kiertää?

Ilon aiheita!
Korjasin langattoman yhteyden lataamalla MADWIFI-binääriajurin ja asentamalla silleen. make ja sudo make install. Lisäksi lisäsin ath_pci tiedostoon /etc/modules. Koneen käynnistymisessä menee nyt jonkin verran pidempään mutta ei se niin haittaa kun eihän tätä jatkuvasti käynnistellä. :D Jos joku osaa kertoo miten tuota paikkaillaan niin kiitän tiedosta. Jäikö tuo asennus hieman vajaaksi vaikka kaikki toimivatkin nyt.
