Asentaminen ja käyttöönotto / Vs: Päivittäminen 6.10 (Edgy Eft) -> 7.04 (Feisty Fawn) - ohjeet ja ongelmat tän

Uskaltaako tässä lähteä Feistyyn päivittelemään, kun Edgynkin kanssa tuli ongelmia. Edgyssä en saa  näytön resoluutioksi maksimissaan kuin 800x600. Onko kenelläkään tietoa toimisiko minun vanha  Matroxin MGA G200 -kortti Feistyssäkään kunnolla, ilman tuskaisaa säätöä?

No niin. Päivitin Edgyyn "sudo update-manager -c" -komennon kautta ja reboottasin koneen. X ei suostunut aluksi toimimaan. Äänet kuuluivat, mutta kuvaruutu vai vilkkui oudosti. Sain X:n kuitenkin toimimaan "sudo dpkg-reconfigure -phigh xserver-xorg" -komennolla.

Ilmeni kuitenkin uusi ongelma: Resoluutio on tällä hetkellä 800x600, enkä saa vaihdettua sitä takaisin 1024x768:aan. CTRL+ALT++-näppäinyhdistelmää painamalla ei tapahdu mitään, eikä tuossa graafisessa "Näytön tarkkuus"-asetusohjelmassa näy vaihtoehtoa "1024x768".

Asentaminen ja käyttöönotto / Vs: Kysymys Feistyyn päivittämisestä

Päivitys toki itseäni himottaisi (Dapper tällä hetkellä käytössä), mutta kun yritin muutamia kuukausia sitten päivittää Edgyyn apt-getin avulla, niin kone meni totaalisen sekaisin. Eli onko tuon "Päivitysten hallinnan" kautta tehty päivitys paljonkin varmempi vaihtoehto kuin apt-getin kautta tehty?

Lisäystä: Niin, ja jos haluan päivittää Feistyyn, niin minun pitää ilmeisesti päivittää kone siinä välissä Edgyyn, ja vasta sitten siirtyä Feistyyn?
