Videoiden toisto ei toimi [ratkaistu kepulikonstilla]

Kun yritän esim. xvid coderilla varustettui tiedostoi katsoa vlc:llä, niin ääni tulee mutta ei kuvaa. Viittaisi että ei codekki toimi, mutta olen kuitenkin asentanu ne seuraavien ohjeiden mukaisesti http://ubuntuguide.org/wiki/Ubuntu:Feisty#How_to_install_Multimedia_Codecs Olisikohan jollakin jotain niksei mitä koittaa?

Pitkän taistelun jälkeen sain toimimaan xinellä, en kuitenkaan esim. vlc:llä, mutta eipä mitään voin käyttää tuotakin.

Näyttää siltä että XVideo ei toimi oikein eli näytönohjaimen ajurissa on jotain vikaa. Käytitkö Xinellä xv-ulostuloa vai jotain muuta? Mitä xvinfo kertoo?

Pieni korjaus ratkaisuun. Se toimii kun ensin avaan videon SMPlayerillä, siinä toimii äänet mutta ei kuva. (ei kuitenkaan sulkeudu kuten muut ohjelmat) Sen jälkeen kun se taustalla pyörii, niin avaan Xinellä videon uudestaan, sit sillä toimii.

Jos avaa suoraan Xinellä, niin se sulkeutuu heti...

Ok, eli XVideo (= xv) on rikki. SMPlayer varaa ainoan tarjolla olevan XVideo-portin, jolloin Xine käyttää automaattisesti hitaampaa X11/XShm-piirtoa (-V xshm). Myös VLC:n ja (S)MPlayerin ulostuloksi voi vaihtaa x11:n, mutta parempi ratkaisu olisi korjata XVideo.

Syynä ongelmaan saattaisi olla tämä bugi:

Käytätkö siis kahta näyttöä? Näytä /etc/X11/xorg.conf-tiedoston sisältö.

Temporary ratkaisu: ota toi Virtual rivi pois.. sit ku tarvit toisen näytön, niin laita takas. Tosin kahdella näytöllä tällöin ei taas noi videot pelitä, kuten toi bugin otsikkokin jo kertoo.

Jeps, tuo virtuaalisen työpöydän leveys (>2048) rikkoo Jauntyn ajurissa 3d-kiihdytyksen ja XVideon.

Ratkaisuvaihtoehtoja:
1. Käytä vain yhtä näyttöä ja poista tuo Virtual-rivi.
2. Aseta virtuaaliset näytöt päällekkäin. Tämä auttaa, jos yhteenlaskettu korkeus pysyy alle 2048 pikselin.
3. Vaihda vanhempaan ajuriin, jossa XVideo toimii myös ilman DRI:tä: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/ReinhardTartler/X/RevertingIntelDriverTo2.4
4. Ongelma on mahdollisesti korjattu ajuriversiossa 2.8.0, joka on Karmicissa.

Otin tuon virtual rivin pois ja nyt toimii oikein. Käytän toista näyttöö (videotykkkykä) vain harvoin kiinni täs, niin on iha hyvä ratkasu.
