En pysty auttamaan sua itse aiheessa vaan tuskin moni taitavampikaan ilman lisäselvennyksiä!

Kysymyksesi tarvitsee hieman tarkennusta!

Ubuntun jakeluversio jota käytät? Usb- WLAN "härppäkkeen" merkki, malli yms!?!

Oletko asentamassa Ubuntulle ko wlan-tikku vai kenties windowsiin??

Mitä olet tehnyt, muuta kuin tökännyt tikun usb-porttiin?

Aivan, ja miten niin ”windownsin langattomien verkkokorttien ajurit ohjelma” – asennatko sitä nyt Windowsiin vai Linuxiin (ndiswrapperillä)?

Jos kyse on tuosta Zydas 1211 piirillä olevasta (esim:a-link) usb dongelista ja ubuntusta, niin sen pitäisi toimia suoraan kun vaan törkkää tikun kiinni ja jos ei niin ajurit löytyy synapticista.

Näyttää siltä ettei tikkusi tunnistu, ainakaan tuon mukaan, kokeile toiseen usb porttiin.

Siitä me edistyneemmät näemme mikä on tilanne (ainakin jossain määrin).

PS. Jos käytät näppäinkomentoja (esim. Ctrl + C) niin päätteessä niihin on lisättävä Shift (=vaihto, joka on tuossa Caps Lockin alla) (eli päätteessä Shift + Ctrl + V ja Shift + Ctrl + C).

Tuon mukaan wlanisi toimii, eli eth2 on langaton,  laite osoitteesta vaan valittelee,ja ehkä network managerin asetuksia pitäis katella.

Käytä wlan tikku irti ja taas kiinni ja katswo tuolla iwconfigilla saako laiteosoitteen tyyliin  Access Point: 00:1A:9F:C9:jotain.
