En aio suositetella Saunalahden prepaid-tikkua kenellekään Ubuntuun. Se ei toimi oletusasetuksilla Ubuntussa ja vaikka sen sainkin ilman googlaamista toimimaan yhden sanan poistamalla, ei sen  nopeus riitä mihinkään muuhun kuin sähköpostin (ilman liitteitä) lukemiseen.

Omiin kokemuksiini perustuen voin suositella Ubuntuun varauksetta. E160-tikku toimii Ubuntu Jauntyssa ilman säätöä vain kiinni laittamalla ainakin Elisan kortilla. Ostin nettitikun prepaid-paketissa, mutta en ole kokeillut Saunalahden simmiä tai arvosetelin latausta. Sen sijaan minulla on Elisan liittymä perusnopeudella 384. Toistaiseksi kaikki on pelannut ongelmitta: tikku pysyy 3g-verkossa ja lataa nopeudella 30-40 kiloa sekunnissa. E160 on halvin löytämäni hsdpa-modeemi ja helppo asentaa.

Minulla Huawei e160e -nettitikku tunnistui ja asentui automaattisesti, kunhan valitsi operaattorin Network Managerin tarjoamasta listasta. Koneena Asus EEE  PC 701 4G ja Ubuntu 9.04 Jaunty. Toistaiseksi toiminut pätkimättä ja ongelmitta, mutta minulla onkin käytössä alin yhteysnopeus 384. Latausnopeus 30-45 kiloa sekunnissa.

Asentaminen ja käyttöönotto / Vs: Ubuntu 8.04 LTS, kuinka saadaan äänet kuuluviin?

Minulla vastaavassa tapauksessa oli jokin Alsa Mixerin säätimistä mykistetty. Minulla lähti äänet toimimaan, kun avasin surround-kanavan mykistyksen. Koneessani on Intelin High Definition Audio emolla (Realtek 5.1). Toinen vaihtoehto on, että äänilähdön liitin täytyy laittaa eri kohtaan takapanelissa. Minulla jostakin syystä Windowsissa toimiva liitin ei toimi Ubuntussa. Värikoodattu plugi (vihreä) oli laitettava mustaan reikään, niin lähti toimimaan.

Komennolla alsamixer voi katsoa liukusäätimien asetukset ja avata mykistetty kanava.

Onko kukaan kokeillut Ubuntun 9.04 versiolla?...toimiiko suoraan.

Ubuntu 9.04 Jaunty tai Linux MInt 7 asentuvat suoraan mitään säätämättä yhdellä ehdolla: WLAN on disabloitava ensin BIOSista. WLANin kytkeminen päälle asennuksen jälkeen saa näyttötarkkuuden sekaisin. WLANia lukuunottamatta kaikki toimii heittämällä: resoluutio 1024x600, äänet, verkkokortti, torkkutila ja pikanäppäimet (äänenvoimakkuus ja näytön kirkkaussäätö), muistikortinlukija. Bluetooth tunnistuu ja kytkeytyy pois/päälle napistaan. En kokeillut VGA-porttia ja ulkoista näyttöä. Minulla on HP 2133 VIA 1,6 GHz, 1GB RAM, 120 GB HD, WinXP.

Jostakin syystä Ubuntun asennusohjelman osiointivaihe ei tarjonnut rinnakkaisasennusmahdollisuutta (osion pienentämistä) ollenkaan. Ratkaisin dual boot -ongelman osioimalla kiintolevyn ja asentamalla XP:n uudelleen omalle osiolleen.

Asensin Ubuntun ulkoista USB-liitännäistä DVD-asemaa käyttäen. Tehottomaksi haukuttu VIAn prosessori ja Totem-Xine toistavat DVD-elokuvia hyvin jopa kokoruututilassa, kunhan asentaa purkukirjaston libdvdcss2 Medibuntusta.

Sisäiset kaiuttimet mykistyvät asianmukaisesti, kun äänen ulostuloon kytkee ulkoiset kaiuttimet.

Kiitos vastauksesta. Loppujen lopuksi asia ratkesi siirtämällä kaiuttimien plugi toiseen reikään tietokoneen äänikortin liitäntäpaneelissa. Mikä toimi Windowsissa, ei toiminutkaan Ubuntussa. Kyseessä siis 5-kanavainen emolle integroitu piiri. Windowsissa ilmeisesti aivan sama, mihin työntää, koska siellä Gigabyten ajuriohjelma kysyy aina, minkä kytkit.

Hei, olen uusi Ubuntu-käyttäjä. Asensin XP:n rinnalle Ubuntu 7.10 Gutsy Gibbonin. Ääni ei toimi, muuten kyllä. Kone on Fujitsu-Siemens Scaleo J, jossa AMD Sempron 3000+, sekä Gigabyten emo GA-K8RS482M ATIn piirisarjalla RS48X. Äänikorti  emolla - Realtek HD Audio ALC 880 Azalia.
