Mitä pielessä? En saa Lingoa toimimaan vaikka teen kuten ohjelman toimittajan ohjeissa sanotaan:
"2.2. Unix/Linux Platforms: Follow the steps below to complete the installation.
Step 1. Go to lingo11/bin/<PLATFORM> binaries directory and make sure all the files are in executable mode. If they are not, you should change their mode by typing
%> chmod 755 *
Step 2. Update the $LD_LIBRARY_PATH environment variable. It is assumed that the installation directory is $HOME/lingo11.
LD_LIBRARY_PATH=$HOME/lingo11/bin/<PLATFORM>:$LD_LIBRARY_PATH
export LD_LIBRARY_PATH
Step 3. Set the $LINGO_11_LICENSE_FILE environment variable to refer to the license file for your installation. For example, if your installation directory is $HOME/lingo11 and you have a 32-bit version of LINGO, then the environment variable should be set as
LINGO_11_LICENSE_FILE=$HOME/lingo11/license/lndlng11.lic
export LINGO_11_LICENSE_FILE
or, for 64-bit versions of LINGO do the following :

Alternatively, you can execute the shell script lingo11/bin/<PLATFORM>/lingovars.sh to perform the required updates in these environment variables.
To execute this script manually, enter the following at command line

Alternatively, to execute the script automatically at logon, append this line to the end of your startup script (.bashrc or .bash_profile for bash shell).
Step 4. If you do not already have a valid LINGO license file and you wish to create a demo license, then go to the lingo11/license folder and run the create_demo_license script as follows:
cd $HOME/lingo11/license
source create_demo_license.sh
Step 4. You should now be able to run LINGO by going to the $HOME/lingo11/bin/<PLATFORM> folder and entering “lingo11” for 32-bit versions and ‘lingo64_11” for 64-bit versions. If the LINGO_11_LICENSE_FILE or LINGO64_11_LICENSE_FILE environment variable is not set up correctly, you will receive the following error message every time you start LINGO.

NOTE: Unlike the Windows version of LINGO, which has a GUI front end, Unix/Linux versions are command-line applications. All commands are typed into LINGO’s command-line prompt that begins with a colon character (

Muoks! Asennusmediana usb-tikku - pari uudelleenasennusta ja tikku roskikseen - nyt toimii. Muoks!
Ostin tyttärelleni yllä mainitun koneen ja ryntäsin asentamaan Linuxia/Ubuntu.
Valitettavasti kumpikaan yhteysmuoto langallinen eikä langaton pelaa. Voisiko jollakulla olla antaa ohjeita. Olen eerittäin pitkään nyt seilannut pitkin erilaisia nettisivuja ja yrittänyt asentaa jos jotakin.
Avusta kiitollinen jo etukäteen. (NYT toimii ethernet dhclient:illa, mutta eihän tämä mikään ratkaisu ole..)
Olen asentanut uudelleen UNR:n 9.04 ja sen päälle Ubuntu9.04:n, molemmat 86 -pohjaisia.

Hyvää päivää,
minulla on kaksi ubuntu 8.10 intrepid asennettua tietokonetta yhdistettynä toisiinsa ristiinkytketyllä ethernet kaapelilla. Pingit menee läpi molempiin suuntiin, mutta tavoittelemani internetyhteyden jakaminen ei ole koko päivän yrityksistä huolimatta lähtenyt toimimaan. Voisiko jouku ystävällinen sielu vääntää rautalangasta mitä pitää tehdä.

Minulla on Feisty käytössä koneellani. Vanhempi levy sisälsi (-ltää ehkä vieläkin) Gutsyn.

Miten 
saan vaihdettua kirjautumisikkunan käyttämän näyttöresoluution 1440 900 60 Hz:ksi. Olen yrittänyt muokata xorg.conf ja xorg.conf.2, joita näyttää käyttävän. Mitä tietoja tarvitsette ongelman määrittelyyn ja ratkaisuun? Alla ote xorg.conf -tiedostosta (/etc/X11 polusta). Käyttää tällä hetkellä vain osaa näytöstä...... viidesosa jää tyhjälle taustalle

Olen tehnyt levyllä olleiden ohjeiden mukaan:
"This document contains instructions on installing Linux driver
and adjusting speed for the series of RTL8139(A/B/C/8130) Network Adapter
Installing Driver:
(1.) Kernel Had Supported Driver:
Check the directory " /lib/modules/¡K./net " if you could find "rtl8139.o"
Your kernel had supported RTL8139 series. You could easy use "linuxconf"
to setup your card. If you don't like linuxconf, you also could use
"modprobe rtl8139" and "ifconfig up eth0" to load module.
If your driver load properly, your "/etc/conf.modules" should include
line of "alias eth0 rtl8139".
(2.) Kernel Don't Support Driver:
If your kernel doesn't support RTL8139 series, you should compiler driver
by yourself. Please contact http://www.scyld.com/network/rtl8139.html
to get source code. The compiler command is located on the end of source
code. Maybe like "gcc -DMODULE -Wall -Wstrict-prototypes -O6 -c rtl8139.c".
If you couldn't compiler success, maybe you should refer to error message
and copy library or head file to Linux."
