Tätä bug:ia ei esiinny Mint 21.1:ssä.

Joo, HP6550b WiFi toimii jollakin lailla, kun olen resetoinut Biosta. Elikkä Tällä hetkellä Win10 ja Ubuntu toimii. Vielä Mint WiFi ei toimi.

Saattaa olla, jos Mint ei lähde tässä toimimaan, niin laitan pimeeseen kaappiin.
Tilasin jo käytetyn HP6570b:n, joka on todella "fiksu" kone raudallisestikkin.

Jos tuo HP WiFi vielä kenkkuilee, niin ulkoiseen USB/WiFi on moni joutunut menemään.

Tällainen vielä löytyy "sudo dmesg -T", mutta ei ole enään punaisella.

Seuraava eli "TPM Embedded Security" voi olla syynä tähän Bios päivityksen "ongelmaan".

Many of us are pretty clueless about TPM, and also to the fact that earlier generations of the HP workstations came from the factory with the TPM device set to hidden in BIOS, and that it also would be reset to hidden if you restore BIOS to factory defaults in a workstation you had changed the TPM device to "available".  That particular unexpected event is how I became less clueless about this option years ago.

That "hidden" default BIOS setting is a common reason you may not be able to see/probe/use/update your TPM device.  The idea behind why devices would be hidden as a security setting is because that makes the device truly not visible to the OS or to BIOS.  Device manager cannot see the device if it is hidden so DM will not tell you that a driver is missing, etc.  I have no idea why HP originally thought the TPM security device was better defaulted to hidden than available.  Seems counter-intuitive.https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Business-PCs-Workstations-and-Point-of-Sale-Systems/TPM-is-default-disabled-in-BIOS/td-p/8109937

Joo, näin se on, koska sain sen kerran pystyyn, mutta sama temppu ei enään bioksessa auttanut.
Elikkä siellä on nyt tolpan väli "lankaa" poikki. Ja sen takia mikään noista lukuohjelmista ei löydä sitä tai se on jysähtänyt johonkin väärään osoitteeseen !
Kokeilin toista Intel 6200 WiFi, mutta merkkivalo on edelleen keltainen.
Referenssinähän minulla on 6570b.

"Voi kyllä olla jokin asetusongelmakin biosin puolella, päivityksen jäljiltä. Silloin CMOS reset ja tehdasasetusten palauttaminen saattaa auttaa."

Tässä tietoa HP Probook 6550b, joka kadotti aiemminkin bioksen päivityksen jälkeen, mutta nyt ei onnistu samoilla tempuilla.
Laitan tässä 6570b tiedot myöskin, joka on toimiva.
Kysymys: Miten saan WiFi:n toimimaan ?
Läppäri kännykän perässä (Ethernet) ja "Ajureiden hallinta" ei läde tekemään mitään.

My second trial would be to change line in /etc/default/grub from #GRUB_TERMINAL=console to GRUB_TERMINAL=console. After that change I would run sudo update-grub and reboot.

HP6550b Ubuntu ja Mint herjas bioksesta "sudo dmesg -T".
jotakin seuraavaa:

No seuraavan jutun innoittamana rohkenin tehdä elämäni ensimmäisen bios päivityksen.

Aloin etsimään miten uudempi versio asennetaan, koska bioksessa ei tällaista mahdollisuutta ollut.
HP6550b on alkujaan Win7.
1. Hain HP asikastuesta sarjanumerolla uudemman bioksen käyttiksenä win 10.
2. Lataus ja ajo. Tätä ennen kävin Win10:ssä tekemässä...
3. Ohjauspaneelissa: "Suojaus ja ylläpito" / " Muuta käyttäjätilin valvonnan asetuksia.
4. Hana ala-asentoon.
5. Haku C:n "swsetup" spxxxxxx.exe ja sieltä HPQFlash.exe.

Toimihan uusi bios ensin, mutta jossakin vaiheessa hävitti WiFin. Kaikilla Linux ja Win.
Kävin bioksessa palauttamassa suojausasetukset "oletuksi" ja sillä lähti WiFi toimimaan. Huh, huh !
Katselin jo eräässä vaiheessa Tori.fi käytettyä 6550b, mutta selvisin hengissä.

Tässä ohje miten säädät "Yövalon" värilämpötilan paremmaksi. Oletusarvot ovat 6500:4500.
Asetin arvoksi 6500:2000. Jos 6500 ( päivävalo ) on liian kirkas niin laita arvoiksi 4500:2000 !
Nyt on parempi.

Tämän päivän valot lienee noin 4000 K ja ne on minusta liian kirkkaat ja rasittavat silmiä etenkin talvella lumiaikaa.
Käytän mieluummin keltaista noin 2000 - 3000 K.

Tiedosto jäi pois ! Enkä löytänyt ohjetta miten sen saa ladattua ?

Redshift välkyy vaikka vaikka Qredshift:iä ei ole asennettu.

Ajattelin laittaa Qredshift ja poistaa Redshift:in.

Tässä on Redshift ja nyt toimii ainakin päivänvalossa, mutta yöllä välkkyi. En tiedä kykeneekö se säätämään päivänvalo / yövalon ajan ?

Tässä Qredshift ja siinä pääsee säätämään yön kelloaikaa.
