Olen uusi Ubuntun käyttäjä ja törmäsin seuraavanlaiseen ongelmaan
Kun ajan konsoliin esimerkiksi komennon "sudo apt-get update" niin tulee erroria Cannot initiate the connection to fi.archive.ubuntu.com:80 (2001:708:10:8::5). - connect (101: Network is unreachable) Could not connect to fi.archive.ubuntu.com:80 (193.166.3.5), connection timed out sekä W: Failed to fetch http://fi.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/dists/focal/InRelease Cannot initiate the connection to fi.archive.ubuntu.com:80 (2001:708:10:8::5). - connect (101: Network is unreachable) Could not connect to fi.archive.ubuntu.com:80 (193.166.3.5), connection timed out
Tuleeko muilla samaa? Onko tässä vain odotettava, vai onko vika täällä päässä? Ainiin, ja pystyykö tuota osoitetta muuttaa joksikin toimivaksi?

Avaa Ohjelmistopäivitykset ja sen ekalla välilehdell (Ubuntu-ohjelmistot) on pudotusvalikkko josta palvelimen voi vaihtaa. Se kannattaa ehkä vaihtaa takaisin oletukseen kun ongelma on ohi.

fi.archive.ubuntu.com osoittaa nykyisin Funetin peiliin, joka näyttää olevan tällä hetkellä nurin, samoin kuin koko Funetin arkistopalvelu (https://www.csc.fi/funet-arkistopalvelu-ftp.funet.fi). Uskoisin että saavat korjattua tämän päivän kuluessa, ellei siellä ole tapahtunut jotain erityisen poikkeuksellista.

Joo, huomasin saman. En usko, että tuollaisia hyväksyttäisiin vaikkapa Debianin virallisiksi peileiksi. Raportoin nuo kaikki kolme epäilyttävää archive-peiliä sekä poistuneen tut.fi:n CD-peilin sähköpostitse. Viesti lähti osoitteeseen mirrors@ubuntu.com joka on annettu yhteystiedoksi wiki-sivulla: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Mirrors
Peilien statusmerkintä Launchpadissa on myös jotenkin rikki, koska kaikki "up to date" -merkityt palvelut eivät ole saatavilla. Mainitsin sen tuossa samalla, mutta voi olla, että ongelmasta pitää tehdä uusi tiketti.

Avaa Ohjelmistopäivitykset ja sen ekalla välilehdell (Ubuntu-ohjelmistot) on pudotusvalikkko josta palvelimen voi vaihtaa. Se kannattaa ehkä vaihtaa takaisin oletukseen kun ongelma on ohi.
En ole vaihtanut sitä oletuksesta ja siinä lukee Server from Finland. Vaihtoehtona mm. Main server. Tarkoitatko että jatkossa noita katkoja tulisi ehkä harvemmin, jos otan Suomen palvelimen sijaan listasta jonkin toisen vaihtoehdon?

En ole vaihtanut sitä oletuksesta ja siinä lukee Server from Finland. Vaihtoehtona mm. Main server. Tarkoitatko että jatkossa noita katkoja tulisi ehkä harvemmin, jos otan Suomen palvelimen sijaan listasta jonkin toisen vaihtoehdon?
Ei tarkoita, CSC:n ylläpitämä palvelin on kyllä perinteisesti ollut varsin luotettava. Tietysti jossain main-serverillä on varmaan load balancerin takana klusteri ja palveluita voi olla kahdennettu. Mutta eiköhän monet mirrorit ole aika leaneja.

Olen samaa mieltä Samin kanssa, että CSC:n Funet on hyvin luotettava, eikä sitä oikeastaan kannata vaihtaa muuksi paitsi väliaikaisesti tällaisessa poikkeustilanteessa.
Yleisesti peilipalvelimien ylläpitoa on ulkopuolisena vaikea arvioida. Canonicalin ylläpitämä pääpalvelin voi tosiaan olla paremmin varmistettu ja hajautettu, mutta en ehkä menisi siitäkään takuuseen. :)

Juu ei vaarinhousut. Lisäsin sen ehkä-sanan viime hetkessä kun tajusin ettten oikeastaan tiedä noiden servereiden hallinnoinnista mitään. Ihan vaan etten vaikuttaisi liian varmalta. Itse ajoin päivitykset toiselta serveriltä ja heti sen jälkeen vaihdoin asetuksen takaisin, sulkemalla ikkunan sen sijaan että olisi antanut päivittää tietokannat.

Hmm. Normaalisti security-lähteen pitäisi viitata pääpalvelimeen security.ubuntu.com, jotta tietoturvapäivitykset saadaan välittömästi julkaisun jälkeen. IP-osoite 193.229.159.9 puolestaan viittaa Elisan välityspalvelimeen, eikä mirrors.nic.funet.fi-palveluun, jonka osoite on 193.166.3.5. Osoiteongelma johtunee Elisan nettiliittymän DHCP:stä ja DNS-asetuksista, eli yhteys käyttää automaattisesti Elisan nimipalvelimia, jotka puolestaan ohjaavat tuohon proxyyn. Tämä on ehkä korjattavissa vaihtamalla ohjelmalähteeksi fi.archive.ubuntu.com, joka ohjautuu samaan Funetin peiliin. On myös mahdollista korvata Elisan nimipalvelu jollain muulla, kuten Googlen DNS-palvelimilla 8.8.8.8 ja 8.8.4.4 (https://developers.google.com/speed/public-dns/docs/using) tai Cloudflaren 1.1.1.1:llä (https://developers.cloudflare.com/1.1.1.1/setting-up-1.1.1.1/linux).
Mitä tiedosto /etc/apt/sources.list sisältää? Tiedoston voi avata tekstieditorilla tai listata päätteessä cat-komennolla:

Näyttää siltä, että kaikki liikenne ohjautuu Elisan proxyyn. Kannattaa seuraavaksi kokeilla nimipalvelimen muuttamista.

Nyt on nimipalvelin muutettu DNS 8.8.8.8 8.8.4.4 ja kone käynnistetty. Siitähän löytyi ihan ohjevideokin. Ja tässä tulos (eli ei vaikutusta):

Nyt on nimipalvelin muutettu DNS 8.8.8.8 8.8.4.4 ja kone käynnistetty. Siitähän löytyi ihan ohjevideokin. Ja tässä tulos (eli ei vaikutusta):
Okei, tarkemmin ajatellen kyseessä on http-välityspalvelin, joka ei toimi DNS:n kautta, vaan se on konfiguroitu jotenkin muuten järjestelmään.
193.229.159.9 on siis www-cache.kolumbus.fi, jonka Elisa on lakkauttanut 19.4.2021 (https://elisa.fi/yhtiotieto/uutishuone/tiedotteet/elisan-v%C3%A4lityspalvelimen-(proxy)-k%C3%A4ytt%C3%B6-p%C3%A4%C3%A4ttyy-19-4-2021/71218425121212), ja siksi apt ei enää onnistu hakemaan tiedostoja, vaikka aiemmin on toiminut proxyn kautta.
Muistatko tehneesi järjestelmään proxyasetuksia? Tarkista ainakin /etc/apt/apt.conf.d:

Onko nyt kyseessä että yrität http palvelua ja sinun pitäisi käyttää sen sijaan https://-palvelua ? Web palveluiden kohdalla http ohjaus https porttiin onnistuu automaagisesti mutta ei välttämättä ole ohjelmoitu apt palveluihin ?
Yleisesti ottaen plain http portti ollaan poistamassa käytöstä selaimien toimesta siten että jotkut selaimet on muuttamassa että nämä yrittävät ottaa ensin yhteyden https porttiin.
Emme ole vielä siinä vaihessa että yleisesti ottaen to 80 portti olisi menossa käytöstä pois mutta siihen pyritään aktiivisesti.

Jep, eli proxy on konfiguroitu muualle kuin Apt:n asetuksiin, koska se vaikuttaa myös wgetiin.
Koska selaimet toimivat, eikä proxyjä ole asetettu Ubuntun järjestelmäasetuksissa, seuraava veikkaukseni on http_proxy ja https_proxy -ympäristömuuttujat, jotka voidaan määritellä joko /etc:ssä tai käyttäjän kotihakemistossa komentotulkin .profile tai .bashrc-tiedostossa. Asetuksia voisi etsiä tähän tapaan:
grep -d skip -i http_proxy ~/.*grep -d skip -i http_proxy /etc/*
Onko nyt kyseessä että yrität http palvelua ja sinun pitäisi käyttää sen sijaan https://-palvelua ? Web palveluiden kohdalla http ohjaus https porttiin onnistuu automaagisesti mutta ei välttämättä ole ohjelmoitu apt palveluihin ?
Yleisesti ottaen plain http portti ollaan poistamassa käytöstä selaimien toimesta siten että jotkut selaimet on muuttamassa että nämä yrittävät ottaa ensin yhteyden https porttiin.
Emme ole vielä siinä vaihessa että yleisesti ottaen to 80 portti olisi menossa käytöstä pois mutta siihen pyritään aktiivisesti.
Canonical ei ole edistänyt HTTPS:n käyttöönottoa Ubuntun ohjelmalähteissä, ja pääpalvelin archive.ubuntu.com ja maakohtaiset domainit (fi.archive.ubuntu.com) eivät edelleenkään tue HTTPS:ää, vaikka peilipalvelimessa tuki olisikin. Apt:ssä on oma allekirjoituksiin perustuva mekaniminsa pakettien alkuperän ja sisällön vahvistamiseen, minkä vuoksi HTTPS:n käyttöönottoa ei ole toistaiseksi pidetty kriittisenä. Myöskään Debian ei käytä oletuksena HTTPS:ää.

Tuo tarkoittaa, että Sisasen järjestelmässä Elisan välityspalvelin on konfiguroitu myös https_proxyksi. Toisaalta https://security.ubuntu.com ei toimisi ilman proxyongelmaakaan, koska palvelin ei tue HTTPS:ää:
