timekpr does not have a working version for ubuntu 11.04+ yet. Expect a new release around the end of August 2012: https://launchpad.net/timekpr/+announcement/9737

Joten jos timekpr on tärkeä ohjelma, ei kannata vielä päivittää Precisiin.

Seurataan vaikka tässä ketjussa tämän ohjelman valmistumista.

This is how I got timekpr to work in Ubuntu 11.10 Oneiric:

(Note that the timekpr icon and notification do not work, which is frustrating for the kids, but the accounts do expire as required. To get the full timekpr functionality for the kids, you need to switch to gnome desktop. Maybe a kind user can step us through doing that.)

1. Install the gdm login screen

Open the terminal and enter

sudo apt-get install gdm

2. Activate the gdm login screen

Select gdm from the ensuing menu that appears after gdm gets installed.

If you already have gdm installed, use the following terminal command to set it current:

sudo dpkg-reconfigure gdm

3. Add the timkpr repository to your sources

Now if you don't have timekpr installed yet, open the terminal again and add the timekpr repository to your software sources:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:timekpr-maintainers/ppa
sudo apt-get-update

4. Install timekpr

Code:

sudo apt-get install timekpr

Or install timekpr from Software Sources

5. Run timekpr from an administrator account

Either search for timekpr in the Unity search (bleahh!) or start timekpr from the terminal:

sudo timekpr

6. Test timekpr

You must have a non-administrator account set up for your children. timekpr will let you set time limits for non-administrator accounts. Set an account to have 1 minute of time. Apply, exit, log out, and log in to the child's account. Within 3 minutes the account should be automatically logged off. If you want the child to have a timekpr icon and notifications, you will need to switch your Ubuntu desktop to Gnome (maybe a kind user can provide a step-through of how to install and switch to gnome for the children).

Laitanpa lisää kehiin: Canon driverit ppa:n kehittäjä näyttää olevan off-line, ei ole päivittänyt ppa:ta pitkään ja tehnyt precise käännöstä ... ???

Viimeisin käännös 26 viikkoa sitten ja 'viralliessa' ppa:sa ei ole precisi:ä tuettujen distrojen listassa.

Driverit näyttävät sisältävän i386 kirjastoja joten osa koodista on aina piilossa
