Hei,

mitä tässä Linux store appstream-jutussa on oikein kyse? Siis kauppa olisi tulossa (good) mutta häslinkiä tässä ympärillä on?

Depending on whether Canonical drops their ‘Contributor License Agreement’ the ‘front end’ for AppStream will be based on the Ubuntu Software Center. Dropping their ‘Contributor License Agreement’ will allow AppStream to be shipped with GNOME. If they decide not to drop their CLA then GNOME will have to write their own ‘front end’ client and that could delay the project by as much as eighteen months

Ei, vaan Canocialin tekijänoikeushömpän. Ubuntu Software Centerin kehittäjien täytyy hyväksyä CLA:han liittyvät pykälät, joka antaa Canocialille esimerkiksi mahdollisuuden tehdä ohjelmasta tulevaisuudessa suljettua koodia. Tämä ei tietenkään käy Gnomen kaltaiselle projektille -- tai ainakin näin olen asian käsittänyt.
