Terve!

Juu eli tämmöinen ongelma olisi. Vlc:llä ja mplayerilla (muita en ole vielä kokeillut) videota katsoessa kuvaa ei näy, mutta ääni kuuluu. Olen asentanut jo xubuntu-restricted-extras -paketin. Outoa on se, että netissä videot toimivat hyvin, kaikki näkyy ja kuuluu... Elikäs mikäköhän mahtaa olla vikana? Olen juuri aloitellut linuxin käyttöä ja olen olevinani ainakin koittanut etsiä tähän apua netistä, mutta huonolla menestyksellä.

Video-tiedostoja on niin monensorttisia, että luulisin, että käytöstäsi yhä uupuisi juuri ko. videotiedostojen käyttämä
koodekki.
Joissakin tapauksissa myös tieto laiteistostasi ja sen käyttötavoista, voisi selvittää ongelman.

Juu no nyt on ongelma ratkaistu... Kiitoksia vaan vastaukselle! :)

Joo elikä asensin nyt xubuntu-restricted-extras -paketin lisäksi ubuntu-restricted-extras -paketin ja nyt toimii. Olisi kylläkin varmaan xubuntu-restricted-extras -paketin uudelleen asennuskin riittänyt, mutta nyt tein näin.

No oh hoh, no siis nyt on sama virhe ilmaantunut uudelleen... eli eilen toimi mutta tänään ei taas toimi... Apuja kaivataan!

No oh hoh, no siis nyt on sama virhe ilmaantunut uudelleen... eli eilen toimi mutta tänään ei taas toimi...

Hämmästelinkin ratkaisua, sillä http://packages.ubuntu.com/karmic/xubuntu-restricted-extras ja http://packages.ubuntu.com/karmic/ubuntu-restricted-extras aika vähäisessä määrin poikkeavat toisistaan.
VLC käyttää omia koodekkeja, mutta Mplayer todennäköisesti noita asennettuja.
Saitko ongelman ratkaistuksi edellisellä metodilla, eli asentamalla ubuntu-restricted-extras uudelleen?
Pikasilmäyksellä ero liittyi lähinnä javaan eli sun:in ja Icedtea -pakettien käsittelyyn. Tuolla ei liene
merkitystä varsinaisesti video-tiedostoten katseluun - vaan paremminkin kuinka selaimet videot näyttävät.

Kyseessä ei ole DVD, mutta ei DVD:tkään näy vaikka tuonkin paketin asentaisi. Xubuntu-restricted-extras pakentin uudelleen asentaminen ei auta. Oudointa tässä on mielestäni se että, ihan aluksi videot toimivat noin päivän verran ja tosiaan lauantaina tuon edellä mainutun jutun jälkeen ne toimivat sen illan, mutta aamulla, kun avasin koneen, niin ei enää videot näkyneet...

Kuulostaa näytönohjaimen ajurin (tai XVideon) ongelmalta. Aja päätteessä komento xvinfo ja näytä sen tuloste. Mitä ajuria käytät ja onhan työpöytätehosteet kytketty pois päältä?

Jos ajurisi tukee 3D-kiihdytystä, voit myös kokeilla OpenGL:ää soittimen videoulostulona.

hmm... tämäpä on hämärää. Nyt nimittäin videot taas toimii ja omasta mielestä en ole mitään tehny, muuta saapi nähdä mitä huomenna tapahtuu, kun käynnistän koneen... No toivotaan että enää ongelmia ei tule, mutta sitten pistän kyllä uutta viestiä.

Jos se nyt korjaantui, niin vois huomenna laittaa ratkaistuksi/korjaantuneeksi tämänkin topicin...

Elikäs välillä vielä on jotain häikkää, mutta nyt videot näkyy useimmiten. Yleensä jos ei näy, niin kun klikkailee sitä auki, kiinni, auki... niin jossain vaiheessa alkaa näkymään. Eli laitetaan tämä ratkaistuksi, vaikkakin ratkaisu tapa on tuntematon. Kiitokset auttajille kuitenkin.
