Yritän käyttää Olympuksen raw-formaattia (ORF) ja sen kääntäminen TIFFiksi tai jpg:ksi onnistuu oikein hyvin Gimpin utraw-lisämokkulalla. Ongelma on, että en saa exiftietoja siirtymään kokonaisuudessaan TIFFiksi, jossa muodossa haluaisin säästää kuvista käsitellyt versiot.
ORF sinällään pitää sisällään kaiken tarvittavan tiedon ja konvertoinnin jälkeen tiedot siirtyvät automatik jpg:hen, mutta ei TIFFiin.
Alla esimerkit kaikkien kolmen tiedostoformaatin exifeistä. Prosessi on ollut että kuvat ORF formaatissa kamerasta, utrawin kautta gimpiin jossa tallennus sekä jpg- että tiff formaattiin.
Kysymys olisi nyt että onko joku painiskellut saman tyyppisen ongelman kanssa ja onko ratkaisua löytynyt. Mieluiten ratkaisu saisi olla jouheva, mutta hätätilassa laastarilappuratkaisukin käy päinsä.

Ikävä kyllä ei toimi. Itse asiassa se ei tallenna edes jpg:hen kun tuon lyhyen pätkän.
Onkohan vika ORF:ssä vaiko ylipäätään tiffiksi tallennuksessa?

No niin, nyt se selvisi - se on tämä Gimpin paska joka ei osaa tallentaa exiftietoja tiffiin sen enempää kuin tuossa edellä lainasin.
Joskus kyllä masentaa kun näissä linux-hommissa jää joku tämmösestä ihan triviaalista tökkimään. Pitää yrittää löytää kiertotie - jos joku tietää, niin neuvoja otetaan kiitollisuudella vastaan.

Tällä hetkellä ainakin mulle on epäselvää kumpi näistä kahdesta kumppanuksesta hylkii tif-formaatin exiftietoja - tai ilmeisesti molemmat, sekä Gimp että UFRaw.
Gimpin osalta löysin mainintoja että se ei tukisi kuin minimaalisen määrän exifejä tiff-formaatin kohdalla. Joku oli myös tietävinään, että kyllä se tukee, mutta vain 8 bittisten kuvien osalta. Itse en saanut sitä tallentamaan kummallakaan. UFRaw käyttää Exiv2-kirjastoa ja sen osalta onglema olisikin tässä kirjastossa.
Herra sitten tietää.
Löytyy kuitenkin aika helppo kiertotie, eli ongelman voi kiertää exiftoolsilla komentamalla vaikkapa näin:
exiftool -TagsFromFile 20080531_103122_orf.ORF -x Orientation 20080531_103122_orf.tiff
Komento kopioi lähdetiedoston (20080531_103122_orf.ORF) exifit kohdetiedostoon (20080531_103122_orf.tiff).

Jepu, exiftool on kuningas. Itse vääntelin aikanaan skriptin joka päivittää tiedostojen muokkauspäivämäärän noutaen sen EXIFistä.

Ja exiftool löytyy muuten ainakin hardyssä paketista libimage-exiftool-perl. HIENOA!
