Eilen asentelin työläppärille (Vistan tilalle) Ubuntumin ja kaikki meni oikein loistavasti. Kone toimi moitteetta koko päivän kunnes iltapäivällä olin palaverissa ja laitoin tietsikan videotykkiin kiinni. Silloinkin vielä kaikki pelasi, mutta kotiin tultuani kun avasin koneen, niin se aukesi vain "shell" tilassa. Arvelin että ongelma ehkä johtui jotenkin näytönohjaimesta ja aikani säädettyäni dpkg-reconfiguren kanssa sain kuitenkin näytön taas pelaamaan.
Onko hajua mistä voisi johtua? Joutuukohan tuon episodin käymään läpi vielä uudestaan. Vähän pelonsekaisin tuntein odotellessa seuraava presentaatiota...... ;)

Linux? Ubuntu? Läppäri? Näytönohjain? /etc/X11/xorg.conf? Entinen /etc/X11/xorg.conf?

Tervetuloa Ubuntu-maailmaan. Eikö edes Ubuntu teksti ja ja se "boottaamisen" edistymistä havainnollista punainen palkki näkynyt? Jos ei näkynyt, niin ongelma voisi olla latauskuvan koossa. Itse olen asian korjannut "Startupmanagerilla", jonka voi asentaa paketinhallinnan kautta. Asiasta on ollut juttua foorumilla aiemminkin. Vanhat jutut löytyvät foorumin hakutoimintoa käyttäen.
Pontvilin kommentit ovat ihan asiaa. Ongelmaa on helpompi ratkoa ja antaa apua kun tietää hieman mistä tietokoneesta, mistä lisälaitteesta yms on kyse. Jos tarvitset lisää apuja kysele, terveisin Timo

Sorry hätäpäissäni kirjoitin, ja ajatus oli tietenkin laittaa ko. matskut mukaan edelliseen viestiin. "seli seli" ;)
Kokoonpano on näin:
HP Compaq NC6000
Ubuntu on uusin versio. (ööö, mistäs muuten tuon pystyy nopeimmin tarkistamaan?)
Näytönohjain on vissiin tuo ATI radeon 9600
Bootin jälkeen vilahti tuo "graafinen" Ubuntu ikkuna, mutta häipyi sen jälkeen aika nopeasti. Mielenkiintoinen juttu kun katsoin näin conf juttuja. Niin jostain syystä on ihmeellisiä muutoksia havaittavissa. Outoa tuossa on se. Että miten se voi itsekseen muuttua noin paljon? Saatteko jotain noista muuta selville.
