Eliii asentelin tuossa ubuntu 7.10 ja kaikki muu toimii ihan OK mutta kuten edellisessä versiossa 7.04:ssa 3D hommellit ei vaan rupee toimimaan. Eli näytönohjaimena on ati radeon x1650 pci ei varmaan järkevin valinta, mutta jooh..asentelin ajurit mallia ati-driver-installer-8.41.7-x86.x86_64.run. Asentaminen meni ihan ok mutta taito loppuu nyt 3D juttuihin viimestään jos sitä on edes joskus ollutkaan :) Jos joku osais neuvoa missä menee pieleen niin olisin kiitollinen :-\.Olen aikalailla foorumeita kulkenu läpi ja yrittänyt asentaa/säätää, mutta muuta en ole saanut aikaan ku sen et uusiksi meni koko ubuntu :'( Visual effectejä kun yrittää laittaa päälle ni pukkaa virhettä Desktop effects could not be enabled
??? Tuossa on muutamia asioita mitä tulee päätteeseen kun laittaa kyseiset komennot.

Asenna paketti xserver-xgl ja boottaa kone niin toimii... :)

Pyydämpä apua tässä ketjussa, kun ongelmani on sama.
Eli en saa compiz:a "käyntiin"
Voin kokeilla asentaa tuon paketin, jolla viestin aloittajankin ongelma on tullut kuntoon, mutta en uskalla, ennen kuin saan edes jonkin moisen varmennuksen, että tuolla voisi alkaa toimimaan. Juuri asensin Ubuntu 7.10 uudestaan, kun homma hajosi käsiin kun yritin kaikenlaisia ohjeita noudattaa.
Laitteistona on
amd sempron 2500+
1,5GB DDR
ati radeon 9550 (ja jos en nyt aivan väärin muista, niin muistia tuolla näyttiksellä 256)
Nyt on asennettuna se atin rajoitettu ajuri.
Pastean tähän samat tulokset, mitä ketjun aloittajakin laittoi, jos vaikka auttaisi jotain vastaamaan.. olen vähän kömpelö linuxin kanssa, mutta eiköhän se tästä lähde liikkeelle..
Olen todella kiitollinen, jos joku osaisi antaa neuvoa. Googlella löytyy neuvoja paljon, mutta kun koneeni sain jo aika huonoon kuntoon, niin en oikein rohkeasti enää uskalla yrittää niitä :( (varsinkaan engl. kielisiä.. saan kyllä ohjeen luettua ja mielessäni suomennettua, mutta kieliopillisen osaamattomuuteni takia voipi mennä jokin asia vikaan )
